Hey there, just bought my friend 1 copy of BF2 Complete collection for 5 bucks (-75% yay)
As soon he joins the Server, he gets the Invalid cd-key error.

Already tryed this solution,

Whenever he changes the registry files, they reset again as soon he starts PR again S:

Vista 32 bit.

im almost getting the same problem. i can play regular battlefield 2 but i cant play PR, which is the only reason i bought BF2. i was able to get my cd key by right clicking bf2 in steam and going to "get cd key" and i tried multiple "fixes" but none have worked yet and ive been googling for hours

You guys all got the reduced complete edition currently on sale at Steam? A third guy with the very same problem posted in the General Discussion section, and all three cases seemed to occur just now during that Steam sale thingy.

Found a fix, changing the registry while having PR running does the job.

i tried changing it while playing but that dosent fix mine

Moved to PR:BF2 Support.

It doesnt want to work for my friend anymore, I guess its a steam problem, I counted like 30 people already having the same problem.

Aw, a shame... Well, there's hope if it's a Steam side issue there might be a Steam side fix...

I've had this sort of CD-key invalid problem before (but not on the steam version). I found that the CD-key was in two different locations in my registry. I could join vanilla, but not PR (which I went spare over for ages googling it hard). Do a search and change both if you have this. Sorted me out.

Yep, he changed both paths, the problem is the changes always reset for him.

I just purchased the same BF2 Complete Collection and I am having the same exact problem. I tried EVERYTHING. From the registry fix to uninstalling and re-installing the game, I have tried everything.

NEED A FIX.....
