Why would we need the BF2 v1.5 patch?

Some people have trouble finding working v1.5 patches.

By "working" do you mean it won't give you the infamous "you have a newer version installed" CTD?

I have been battling 2 weeks now. Downloaded twice... etc. run as admin, cleaned registry, ran screen resolution low, EVERYTHING except formatting"

That error message is often caused by not having BF2 v1.41 installed prior to applying the 1.5 patch, and has nothing to do with a broken download link.

I finally got it right. After re-downloading working/broken patches (over 10 gigs in 2 weeks) i was about to give up on EA, until about an hour ago. I just thought I'd share my little victory with you and I hope really really hope this is the fix you need and that you don't need to go thru what i did. EA support non-existant. Pr support tops and youtube the final victor.

Last note, even with my pc unable to patch the road to jalalabd map in v.1.4.1 I at least got my game patched up to V.1.5.

Thank goodness, now I can play something fast paced and not just fallout 3... phew.
