Gaming with SD-card?

Just a question for the people that are using SD-cards for gaming, are they worth getting it? Will games be much faster to load, I saw a couple of videos on Youtube where it states that a single SD-card is much better for gaming because it doesn't have any moving parts and is much faster to read as it don't need a laser and a disc to read from. I want to buy it to play PR.

I also saw these new SSD-harddrives but they cost too much in my opinion; ?1 per GB. I would buy it though if they had 10GB versions or so :o ops: but the market only has the 100GB(not sure?) versions to offer. But also, these harddrives are like 10x faster than the usual HD's, they also require less energy.

Ofcourse, buying an SD-card is much cheaper but is not that fast as the SSD.
Buying the SSD is kinda 'stupid' if you know that in a couple of months the SSD you bought today for ?300 will cost like ?100.

Anyway, what's your opinion about it, to get an 8GB SD-card for Project Reality only or look for a cheap SSD?

I am using a 60GB SSD for my windows and some exclusive programs and games like PR that should load as fast as possible.
My system booting is incredibly fast and my loading times in PR are sweet too. Keep in mind that PR however has 3 min delay before the round starts, is it really worth seeing the timer a bit earlier? Your choice...

As for SD-Cards I am not sure how they fit into this picture but make sure the connection is as fast as the SD and also there are different categories of SD cards (they have different speeds).

Hhmm.. yeah you got a point, but the thing is, the speed of the directory where you game is installed has also somekind of factor on the smoothness of the gameplay itself, conclusion; I'll have less low fps?
Although, that's what I have been told!!!

Depends on where the bottleneck is I think.
