Hi Project Reality,

as i failed to get in contact via Dev mail as posted on the PR main page, i try this now - and i would be happy for not being killed immediately.

I am an OPK fan and did some maps. I always tried to push OPK a bit forward for more Single-Player fun, because that's by my understand the most important thing about BF2. (Yes, my ping to any BF2 server sucks.)

As a demonstration i had created a Map-Pack which included further features such as PR content shared with OPK. And now it becomes dark grey: I am aware of what had been shared from PR to OPK but not yet being presented ingame by OPK, which includes e.g. the Challenger (Brit Tank). I used that Challenger and the Landrover to my Map-Pack - without having had received feedback from the PR Devs at that point in time.

I am currently working on a custom Upgrade Mod for OPK just for Single-Player and would love to continue using the Challenger and the Landrover, because i need some vehicle for the Brits. And i am not sure about the civilian vehicles - are those original PR and do i have to ask for those, too?

Please advise if i have permission to do this - or shall use different vehicles - or shall die in shame.

I would be very, very, very happy, if i would get an ok.

Btw 1: If you check my Map-Pack, you will find everywhere detailed credits including the PR content.
Btw 2: If OPK did a handover of their stuff to you (no idea, maybe they did as they are dead anyway), feel free and invited to use my maps for your own stuff.

For starters, have you already released this map pack with our content in the map pack itself? I mean the models of the CR2 or land rover etc in the download and not just used strait from OPK?


OPK dose not have permission to use our Challenger 2 model, OPK only has permission for the following:

• British Soldier Models
• hmg_gpmg
• hmg_gpmg_ammobox
• L109
• L115A1
• L119A1
• L85A2
• L85A2_AG36
• L85A2_SUSAT
• L86
• L9
• LAW 80
• GB_JEEP_LANDROVER

Releasing assets within a map pack without permission is totally not allowed and a direct breach of the PR's copyright. Using Assets from inside OPK, but not having the files included in the map pack is fine, but then you can't use the Challenger 2 etc.

If you want to use the Challenger 2, you need to get permission from us to be able to use it in the map pack by submitting and official request.

That link AF is more for our community mods trading with other mods more than other mods wanting to trade with PR.

Wow - this makes me be a baddy.

In my last days at OPK i saw the files of the content listed by Rhino and(!) Challenger and Eurofighter on the OPK Server. Those files had been placed incomplete in those days. The internal discussion at OPK is the reason for my impression that a permission to use the Challenger (which?) had been given. With that understanding i used it - after having left OPK due to a different understanding regarding the relevance of Single-Player - in the released custom Mapp-Pack (which is the FilePlanet link above) - of course with Credits and everything. In those days i failed to get in contact with you guys via the Dev link on the PR main page. Having read Rhino's list, i understand by now, that i did wrong.

I very much apologize for my misbehaviour.

After i will have been killed for this, any chance to ask very gentle for a) the permission to use in a custom OPK Addon-Mod what had been permitted to OPK and b) to use any british APC or tank - any kind of armored vehicle? I will obey and proceed as you guys advise. Of course vis versa you guys are invited to grap my maps and modify them for PR use if of interest.

Ye I understand, we can overlook this if you do give us an official request for any assets you have in your map pack that are not in OPK and belong to us, although I can not guarantee that you will be granted permission although I don't see why not, but if we dont then you would need to remove this map pack fully off the net.

So ye, just PM me this filled out with your info and we can go from there.
