Using the BF2142 engine

If BF2142 Got a No-CD Patch (Like 1.5) or was released on steam, would the PR developers consider moving to the BF2142 engine after finishing up PR BF2 1.0? Since I feel the only reason 2142 has such a massive lack of players is A: the (overly aggressive) single account DRM, and B: no officially released CD patch.

Because we all know that if Project Reality switched... we could finally get all the sorts of happy goodies everyone's been asking for. Like weapon sway, Track-IR support, and 3D Vehicle HUD's just to name a few.

If I' missing something please tell me. Are there any other reasons that would keep the developers from switching that I haven't thought of?

No.

Partly because porting everything over to BF2142 would take more time than its worth.

Partly because hardly anyone plays BF2142 so we would be forcing people to buy it to play PR.

Partly because development of PR:BF2 will not stop at v1.0 (fyi, it's just a number and won't mean PR is complete).

Partly because the Project Reality team are currently developing four separate projects (PR:BF2, PR:V, PR:ArmA2 & PR2) and therefore do not have the manpower for an additional project.

But mainly because you didn't search before you made this suggestion.

See kids, this is what happens when you don't search.
