Hey guys,

I recently got a brand spanking new iMac (intel) it came with the latest OSX Snow Leopard (very very sexy) and the latest version of Bootcamp.

Now you can install windows using bootcamp, the snow leopard only supports Windows 7, so i had to buy that. I bought the ultimate edition 64bit from microsoft. My disc arrived. I started up Bootcamp and followed the instructions, then when the windows installer came on it said "Boot Device not found" the Boot CD was in there as it had asked for it and it stays on that page FOREVER. When i restart the Mac it goes to that screen straight away and i get stuck in an endless loop.

Eventually i managed to emergency eject the CD which got damaged on the way out (which isnt a problem i received a backup copy)

I talked to the guys at apple and they couldnt seem to help me "because installing windows on a mac is the users choice and therefore cant give techincal support on it"

Any help?

Any takers at all? Google search has failed me at this point. Anyone else install windows on their mac/macbook pro?

You might wanna try some computer tech site like Tom's Hardware.
If it's still in the endless loop, you could try resetting the factory settings before it gets there, I don't know how to do that on a Mac though, sorry.

FIXED!!!!!

If anyone else has this problem PM for a fix, i had to find it on my own since no one on the internets knew how to fix it properly.

It would be nice and helpful for others if you could just post your solution here. If you ever come across this again (because you want to reinstall windows etc.) you could look up your solution here too. And then at least there would be one solution in the internets.
Also you might not be available when someone would like to know the fix.

1. Run Boot Camp Assistant from Mac OS X Snow Leopard (Applications -> Utilities)
2. Create a partition for the Windows installation using Boot Camp Assistant
3. Plugin your install disc and install Windows 7
4. The system will reboot a couple of times during the installation
5. The problem: The second time the system reboots, you the see the Windows red-green-blue-yellow animated logo, and then the screen goes black and hangs infinitely.
6. Press and hold the power button on your iMac until it shuts down.
7. Start the iMac again holding ?alt? key, so you can select and load Max OS X Snow Leopard again.
8. Run any application that let you work with NTFS partitions (e.g. Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X or MacFuse)
9. Find the file ?C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ATIKMDAG.SYS? on your BOOTCAMP partition, and simply delete it.
10. Restart you iMac, and boot up Windows 7
11. Now Windows 7 should boot normally
12. Run update windows utility and install Boot Camp drivers from the Mac OS X install disc
