Is there a possible way to fight off apc without the lat/hat kit or armor/air support. Or are you pretty much screwed

Phosphor grenades, or sometimes 50. cals, not to forget normal nades ( alot of drivers get scared by the explosions and fall back then).

Engineer kit, TOW, or if you have a decent pilot you can laze him and call in air support.
edit: ah I didn't see you said "Without air support"

In previous versions i remember i used to sneak on enemy tanks and place incendery grenades beneath them, they exploded after only 1 grenade. Now its tweaked and you need multiple phosphor nades to do that. But i'd say that you are pretty much screwed if you don't have LAT's HAT's, TOW's or air support.

if its a BTR, if you have to shoot at it, use 40mm UGLs if you have them (takes 10-12 to kill a BTR). MTLBs, again only if you have to and have not AT or support, shoot at it with small arms. Uhh, BMP-3 or Bradely, well without AT you're SOL.
If you have a Combat Engineer you can attempt to mine/C4 it, but again, last ditch effort and some server might consider that a "suicide tactic".

colored smoke apparently has an alpha that thermals cant penetrate. i havnt seen it for myself.

Smoke grenades would sometimes scare them away, but doubt that would work now they have thermals.

this is true. pop some white smoke and pop some officers behind it and the apc will be raging wondering why it cant see through it.

Is there a way to destroy a light armored vehicle WITH a LAT? I very nearly ragequit when playing Muttrah today, as every time I hit an MT-LB or BTR with an AT-4 it just drove off smoking. They weren't glancing hits either. Is it lag-related or have the light anti-tank weapons been made completely useless? (Or - are dice rolled for damage? Sometimes I have destroyed vehicles just fine with the AT-4.)

The MTLB seems oddly resistant to AT shots at times. I've hit it with a H-AT before and it did almost no damage. Also, it all matter where you hit the vehicle, the rear and sides are normally the most vulnerable.

Erm, HATs were fine against it last time I checked. No problem with them.

Which were the spots I hit. Also, the hull top of the BTR. The damage just seems so... random at times.

Truth. This is why it is
critical to keep the SL's smoke re-armed.
Incendiary grenades kill the tank on Qwai if it is within about 20m. I was driving it in the fields north of Estate, and some infantry hiding threw them even though we weren't even near them, they killed us in about 6 seconds. Basically if you're going to die anyway, you may as well use them.

Tactics with thermite is pretty unrealistic and pretty desperate in my opinion, the vast majority of the time you'll never do anything to the enemy armor rather just reveal your position. Engineer kit rush tactics is lucky and futile if you ever do as well, unless your strategically placing mines.
Best bets and realistic tactics if no AT missles are available is to just best hide from the enemy vehicle until its no longer a threat of killing you, using smoke from your SL for cover, distraction, or retreat and call its position out to your team for another vehicle to come support, CAS etc.
Remember you don't have to always focus on eliminating a vehicle as soon as your aware of it survival is the key.

if you cannot kill it...just leave it alone or it will kill you.

Yeah but on Muttrah City, near the edge of the map, we were setting up a forward FOB and before the TOW was built an APC got to us. There were like 3 squads there to, tragic tragic loss.

Yeah, so that is when at least one guy in those THREE squads should have gotten a LAT/HAT.

Yup, I know it's an interesting problem to solve (killing APC's with no AT weapons), but really the best bet is to not have the problem in the first place..
Infantry are soft and squishy. Don't let the APC see you.

Your title is pretty misleading!
If your whole squads throw Incendienary grenades and Frag grenades, And I mean your whole 6 man squad! You may have a chance killing him!
