Grammatical suggestion re: "[Winning team] have claimed victory over the battle"

Turns out I can't post this as a reply on this suggestion thread, so if someone could paste it in there that would be swell.

I'd like to suggest some alternatives for the non sequitur, "[Winning team] have claimed victory over the battle." The grammatical issue can be solved simply by excising "over the battle", ie '[Winners] have claimed victory!'. However the syntactic issue arising because the team names are in both singular and plural form (eg United States Army & Iraqi Insurgents), and therefore the auxiliary verb succeeding the team name (ie have/has) has to change accordingly, would require a slightly more complex fix, and is probably not worth the effort.

If you want to fiddle about with extra fields or whatever, here's some more ideas:

The [Winners] (is/are) victorious!
You have claimed victory over the enemy!
The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) claimed victory over the [their force]!
You are victorious!
You have defeated the enemy!
The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) defeated the [their force]!
You have won the battle!
You win!
You have won!
The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) won!
You have (annihilated/destroyed/terminated/neutralized/terminally rogered... etc) the enemy!
The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) [verb]ed the [their force]!
Clear!
Thank you for supporting the global military industrial complex! (Insert oil/have more dimwit kids/obey unquestioningly) to continue!
"Game over - You a winnah - hahaha!" is less grammatically correct but I'll put it on the list anyway.

Some alternative losing messages; 'You lose', 'You lose, sucka', 'The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) been defeated!', 'The ([Your force] has/[Your forces] have) been defeated by the [their force]!', 'Your team has lost its ability to re-animate its dead - [their force] zombies win! Hope you enjoyed this zombie mod! Support your local zombies!', etc

My personal preference would be for something simple - 'You win/lose', 'You are victorious/have been defeated', or 'The [you] (has/have) (won/lost) the battle(!/.)'

Also, perhaps it may be a good idea to add a list of the existing load screen tips on the suggestions forum so that they may be checked more easily and completely.

While I'm here I'll mention that I can't exit the fixed MG in the bunker at the west entrance of firebase mercury on ramiel single player maps (it plays the nightvision noise when I try).

Finally, I'd like to suggest that blasting choppers with RPGs is awesome fun; yay PR

"There is a reason that you need 25 posts to post in the suggestion forum" :P

I don't think that "You win" or "You lose" can be displayed to each team because both teams see the same, so if USA would win, both teams will see You win and when will You lose be?

And I don't think that fixing grammar in game would be hard to do to the DEVs but I don't think that it is so important too, (only if you would see what all kinda sh*t gets on the chat ingame :P ).

Pretty sure it's been like that since at least .8, if it's so easy why not change it? May as well say, "Winning team big heapum win". Let me spell it out for your devs. You don't claim victory over a battle any more than you claim victory over chess. You claim victory in the battle against the opponent, or over the opponent, in the same way you claim victory in the game of chess against your opponent, or victory over your opponent in the game of chess. D out.

Most confusing post I have ever read, are you saying you want to change the current win/lose message to "You claim victory in the battle against the opponent"?

If so it sounds like a suggestion therefore wrong section and you have not enough posts to even make a suggestion.

My personal opinion on the matter is...who cares? You get a message declaring if you have won or lost, it does not matter what else it has to say really, for all I care it could say You win or You lose. I think you claim victory over the battle is a very accurate way to say you won the battle and who else are you going to win it over aside from the opponent?
