I want to download these mods but i dont know which game to get. Which Game is better?? BF2 or Arma2?? I'm Running Windows 7 I am kinda worried about that too. I looked and all the trailer for the new mod and its awesome but that was for BF2. Would some please tell me which is better. The only BF2 I could find is on Ea, and its the Collection. arma2 is a lot harder to get into if ur an average gamer.....i think i would be safe to say arma is for the hardcore, i have it and have not try ace mod.... i am waiting to get a better computer cuz u need a bad *** one to run arma2.
bf2 pr would be a good start for u....and searching the forums as well.

BF2 Is probably better if gameplay with realism elements is what your looking for, if you want full Immersion however, go for ARMA2.

BF2 -> BF2 Complete Collection (I think)
ARMA2 -> ArmA 2 + OA.

It doesnt matter where you get the copies from, just dont use steam, its usually a problem

battlefield2 should be on that page in the link....click download now and i assume u can download from EA. also the complete collection is there but u dont need it....so its up to u.

yeah it works with win7 check the support area of this forum if u have any problems
if you dont know what steam is....then ur good.

BF2 does work on windows 7, just use "Run as Administrator"

The only game version I can download is the BF2 Complete collection is that gonna work or does it have to be the original??

before u go downloading the 1.41 and 1.5 patch for BF2, install the game and see what version it is at....i believe the version will be at the bottom right and if it doesnt start with 1.41xxxxx or 1.5xxxxxx then download the patches.

Im not sure but i think server is just if you want to create YOUR OWN server

Download Xfire and create an account

make sure u do things in order too, or you might have a hard time

1. install bf2 and any or all expansions (not sure how the complete collection downloads and installs ie in parts or as one big install)

2. check the version of battlefield2 once bf2 and expansions are downloaded and installed

3. install nessasary patches if needed. also, not neccasary but i recommend it, run and attempt to play a regular bf2 game in order to see if everything is good with the install at this point. create an account and fix your video settings and controls at this time as well. if all is good. then go to step 4

4. install PR.95(all 3 parts in order). And moddb from the downloads page of this site is the easiest site because u dont have to sign up to download if i remember correctly unless u know how to work torrents, then use that. during install hit yes and approve all things during the installs.
best of luck to u getting it to work and enjoying the game. remember always run as administrator and i think u might have to run in compatibility mode....not sure on that one though

Wbrck, you might want to start using the edit button.

I would recommend BF2 because the mod already has a good base there...
However, What can be done with ArmA 2 is far beyond the Battlefield 2 Engine capabilities.

Just get the BF2 download from Amazon, it's like 5 dollars

The majority of servers use mumble a positional audio prog like TS. So you can talk to anyone, plus all the leaders are in one channel for real teamwork.

Can make it very immersive one server even obliges players to use it.

Complete collection (well mine) game with 1.41 already, and three parts - normal, Special Forces and Euro Forces load em all unless you only EVER want to play PR for which you only need the first/basic/original version.

Good install guide like andersons but a little more indepth.

The "Complete Collection" comes with Armoured Fury and Euro Force booster packs, however they are free now. Get Complete Collection only if you really want "Special Forces." The standard game is only $10, because I got the game for PR.
