Random in game freezes

Lately since I have installed my new graphics card (specs bellow), I have been getting random freezes in game. They last only 2-4 seconds, although sound is still present during the freeze. I don't think its ping or latency related since I have a relatively good ping in most servers. I also rebuilt my shader cache from the changing of the old EVGA 285 to the new 460 SC card. I checked the temperatures on all systems during game, and they show no overheating on the card nor CPU. Video card fan is set to 85% using MSI Afterburner, and CPU is cooled by a liquid system.

BF2 Settings:
Resolution: 1900X1080
All other Settings are on High, and antialaising is set to max x8.

Nvidia Control Panel:
Most on performance, and application controlled. Vertical Sync is set to force on.

System Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM Corsair DDR3 1600
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce EVGA GTX 465 Superclocked, Driver version 260.99
Sound Card: VIA High Definition Audio Integrated
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.100618-1621)
Motherboard: ASUS P5RD1-VM
Power supply: 800W

Nice rig. 8-)

You might try and check your driver version. I've had similar problems and had to go back driver versions in some cases to get my video card to function properly.

Recently I had problems with a network card that I could not figure out, until I realized that I changed Windows Update to automatic to get updates and forgot to turn it back off. Microsoft updated my network card with some **** driver and I started getting disconnects. Only a reboot would get me back on my router.

So if everything else is checking out, take another look at all your system drivers.

Ive been told alot of 460/465's are having problems with a simular story to urs.
It may be just the card
or
It may be somthing stupid like a driver.

Ok, I'll try updating my drivers seeing if that will help since a new version came out. And if it doesn't I will try switching back to an older one. Thx :-)

Well updating the driver to the newest one that just came out didn't work. So i guess I will try rolling back like you guys said. :o

Well.. Reinstalling the old drivers from the CD didn't help. Plus on top of that I got rid of a lot of clutter, defragmented, and tried different page file sizes, which brought no luck. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry for the multiple post one after an other. But... I found out the cause of the sound problems, and as well my overall computer performance going down. This morning as windows loaded the dreaded "Windows has detected a Hard Disk error" came up. Which usually spells disaster for the HD. Seems like I need to get a new one.... But at least I know what was causing all the performance and sound problems.
