High Texture Crash (Fixed for me!)

I figured something out. You crash on High Textures because you run out of video memory...
But I found out that, if you restart the game between each map load, it won't crash!
Ie. Map change? Restart game! Server change? Restart game!
Worked for me, enjoying the hi-def graphics

GJ Devs, as usual.

I'm pretty sure there's an easier way to fix this, unless you really have only a little available memory. I'll see if I can look into it.

Man its a painful fix . Once u restart the game , someone else who is waitin to join server might take over ur slot and u'll have to wait a couple of secs/mins get back on the server . Also u need to have good amounts of ram to load fast because of the 1:30 rule . So it wouldnt work i guess :/
As above post there has to be an easier fix for this problem .

It's better than nothing.
And normally a few people leave every map change... I myself never had issues restarting the game and getting to a server before the 1:30 mark, but I got 4GB of RAM.

I just get a popup warning me bf2 is about to crash due to low system memory, i just ignore it and keep playing, no problems so far!

By 'crashing' do you mean the game just crashing or your whole computer and the audio repeats itself?

The game just crashes to desktop during loading screen.
@Chief, you crash if you actually run out of memory, which I believe is not your case then, since you are just "running low".
