Recent Lack of Suggestions?

So you may or may not have noticed that there hasn't been much activity in the suggestions forum lately.

Does it mean that PR has reached a level of perfection where not much else can be added?

or does it mean the PR community has matured to a point where people are actually thinking about their ideas before deciding to post?

anyone else want to put up a theory?

They go through pre-moderation.
This is not a theory :-P

ye, like DankE said, suggestions are now moderated so that the moderators only approve good suggestions, rather than having to lock re-suggestions etc all the time :p

So really, we are still receiving more or less the same amount of suggestions as we did before, may a little less since people have realized that bad suggestions wont get though at all now and the occurrence of a good suggestion is still quite rare but at least when one now comes, it doesn't get swamped with bad suggestions around it :p

Just as a quick example, there was a suggestion posted yesterday which hasn't been approved for obvious reasons, titled "requesting kits from FOBs" :p

but it's so irritating when the crates are dropped in the middle of the fire intense road while the FB is in cover ;)

What Danke and Rhino said. Due to the moderation of the suggestions, there is a lot more "weeding out". Think of it as the Idol or X-Factor pre-selections/first round. The (hilariously) bad ones don't make it through.

Wasn't more than half the attraction of those shows the "bad ones " ?
I know it's better for me cuz I don't get infraction points for hating on noobs though.

Yes, but we don't have the Suggestions forum for it's entertainment value :p The less stupid suggestions for the devs to weed through the better.

Does this mean we can now have a surprise News Feature at the end of the year entitled "The Top 10 Worst Suggestions of 2011"?

Hey! Maybe I should go suggest that in the... oh wait.

I know it's not my place but I really much disagree with this kind -and for that matter any kind- of censorship. So what if someone makes a hilariously ridiculous or less ridiculous and just absolutely stupid suggestion every once in a while? I find them only amusing.

Surely locking them or even removing them is less of work than pre-moderation.

Not really. Trust me, we've been looking for different ways to handle the Suggestions forum for a long time now, and so far this one appears to be working quite well. Project Reality has been around for so long that just about everything that's actually doable and fitting for PR has already been suggested, and this just makes it a lot easier to go through them.

Becauseeee... I have played PR for what, 3 years? I never actually found an "amusing" suggestion. Normally someone who put up a lot of effort (or none at all...) to type a big page about his suggestion instead of, simply, using the search button.

I am for the "Worst 10 Suggestions of 2011", though... hehe

Still, I'd rather not have to wade through piles of morons demanding the thing they saw on "Futureweapons" yesterday.

is this approval really a good thing? sure its annoying to hear bad suggestions, or the same suggestion over and over, but through discussion on an idea maybe something good would come out of it?

I think it was a smart move... Real suggestions drown in useless re-suggestion.
What I don't understand is why the suggestions that actually gets through the needle eye only stays for like two days and then they're gone again. Does a suggestion disapear when it gets inactive?
