When getting out of an APC, increase the kit request time.

Situation
Currently, there is no time limit in-between leaving an APC and being able to request a kit. As an example, I saw a 2 man MTLB stop at the main road leading out of the Village on Silent Eagle, as it was blocked by wire. The driver hopped out, presumably requested a Medic or Officer, and threw an incendiary on the wire. He got his crewman, jumped back in and waited for it to be destroyed so he could go over it.
As another example, any APC crew can quickly bail from their burning vehicle, request kits, and instantly become either a sniper team/AT team, or simply get a medic kit and heal themselves, denying the tickets/kills for the tank/whatever that shot their APC.
Problem
This is unrealistic in the following manners:
- If a vehicle is on fire, there is serious injury to the crew/passengers or there is risk of death by staying in it, they would not be able to get weaponry that is usually carried around in an APC, such as spare weaponry or Anti-tank equipment, such as an AT4 (which to my knowledge is usually carried in the back of a Stryker)
- An APC crew cannot instantly become a sniper team or have access to Claymores. There are many other examples of this, but its mostly common sense.
- It also detracts from game-play as the squad which requests these kits can easily overcome an obstacle (in this case, razorwire) and take much-needed kits away from other squads which may need them.
Solution
Increase the time needed to request a kit on exiting all personnel-carrying vehicles by a minimum of 10 seconds (IMO, would like to hear the communities/devs comments on the time)
Of course if anyone has any smarter, more developed ideas on this subject feel free to present your views.

Fair enough, I've also seen some real morons stop their APC, get out get a HAT, run up to the hill and use it, drop it and get back in - which means 1/2 hats is out of the game for 10mins, even a little impediment would be a message to teh user "what your doing is stupid and wrong"

Well laid out, I definitely agree. Needs a python coder to determine if it can be done

100% agree and this is why i dont set wire down, its useless (unless its on INS to stop bomb car) as even if they APC has no infantry, the crewman can destroy the wire.

As much as I love to do that, I agree. I often request med kit from my damaged APC or a sniper/HAT just to get rid of another HAT guy, APC or TOW w/o risking my own.

Yeah it's a good one.

Personally, I see no problem with removing kit request from APC's altogether. Perhaps to compensate IFV's such as Bradleys or Warriors, or the larger APC's such as the AAVP could carry a single supply crate, rather than being the rolling cache that they are now. To be honest though, I do not see an inability to request kits in the field often if ever. Logistics are rarely an issue, and losing the ability to request kits from an APC should not hinder gameplay much, if at all, with the obvious exception of the swiss army knife apc crew.

Awesome suggestion.
Me wonders... Is it possible to code that requesting kits is blocked if there are no 2 crew members inside of apc (driver and gunner)? That would limit crewmen to become instant hat/medic/whatever and at the same time doesn't hinder infantry so they would be able to request kits without trouble.

Could it be possible to make crewman unable to request kits from APC' altogether? Kinda like how pilots can't be in the passenger seats of helis anymore
That way APC' won't have to stay in an area longer after dropping off people that want kits as well, but make the crewmen unable to go HAT for 10 secs and such

+1
I never understood why the apc have that option anyway. I mean... It wouldn't carry ALL of those kits at ones in a real life situation.

More than 10 seconds, more like 10 minutes...

Hmm... Makes absolute sense.
^I'd say 1 minute is enough.
An infantry squad can request kits
before entering the APC anyway, so +1 to this.

Perhaps only infantry kits?

Let the grunts get their kits from main or from supply crates at the fob before they roll out if you are going to do it that way. Kit request from the APC is overkill.

Bro! I read the suggestion and had about 50 or so flash backs to you requesting a HAT/AA kit from our BMP.
I always felt it was quite a loophole (read:exploit), but in theory does the APC not carry all of those items? It would have to for the request system to work, so in the end could a crewman not grab a few goodies before the vehicles catches ablaze?
And what about those squads who forgot to request a medic kit/whatever, and are waiting for the APC to stop so they can hop out and get it? I'd assume the timer would be in play for anyone leaving the vehicle, which will lead to some awkward loitering situations while players wait for their timer to run down.
And Dtacs, I'm sure any squad in that situation didn't intend on rolling out ill-equipped but you know as well as anyone else things rarely if ever go according to plan.

I would like to see a 10 second wait. This way, a crew which has abandoned an almost-exploding vehicle cannot request an officer/medic kit. The 10 second wait will also allow them to get the necessary equipment carried in the vehicle, but not be able to instantly phos something.

Jaymz...
Make it the same amount of time it takes before you can drop your kit after exiting a vehicle.

Is it possible to restrict kit request for soldiers based on the soldier's current kit and location? What I am thinking is that if so, just make it so that crewmen and unarmed soldiers can not request kits from APC's. Problem solved. Infantry squads are not needlessly bogged down, assets aren't placed at additional risk due to artificial timers, and you clear the problem of APC crew swapping kits as the mood strikes them.

+1 if possible

Ofc only exception would be crewman kit.
EDIT:
I think my idea is better, because OP limiting time idea may be quite frustrating, when you exit apc and need to request kit or drop kit not necessary from apc but in normal conditions, like to get medic from fob or something like that.

This or Kain's improvement should do the trick
