Graphics Problem (FPS), I think...

Ok, first let me state that I am able to play Original Battlefield 2 on high settings/resolution and I am able to play several PR maps on high settings/resolution, (Al Basrah, Kashan Desert and Fools Road) but the rest I need to bring the settings/resolutions down to low, or else my FPS go from about 30 to 3. Why is this, I don't know what I could possibly do to resolve this issue. It doesn't make sence. Thanks in advanced.

Huge maps, longer viewdistance and a lot more objects than BF2 maps.
Unfortunently for you, this means lower graphicsettings or upgrading your rig.

Ya, I think I'm just in denial, lol, but I've heard people complain that Al Basrah mapp lags for them yet other maps run fine, its my problem just reversed, thats why i initialy thought maybe it was fixable, but I beleive you are correct. Thanks for the quick response.

But ya... its all about the graphics for me, lol, but, I feel that I'm so close to running PR in at least medium settings, I think I was hopeing maybe some tweaks I could perform, like increasing Virtual Memory or increasing Video Memory (if that is, in any way possible) or even an overclocking software for my GMA 4500MHD (chipset?) that I have had absolutly no luck finding, I've tried all of them, and theres no option in my Bios, and I don't know how to access VBIOS. I've updated my graphics driver with a better MODDED driver, made a little difference, I even tried Game Booster (does NOTHING). I don't know what else I can do, But I got a question I would give my left nut for someone to answer... I got a Toshiba laptop (Model: L505 S6953) with Intel GMA 4500MHD chipset express family, is that a physical video card? And if it is, can I swap it out with another video card? Thank you so much!

Yep you need a new system. You will not be able to change the GPU in your laptop. If you want to be able to upgrade your system part by part in the future I would suggest you get a desktop.

I get FPS lag on some maps aswell, which is wierd since my rig plays Crysis on max settings at 1920x1080 with an average 50 FPS...

Ya, thats what I mean, I don't know, I'm not an expert, but I'd say its some sort of bug, who knows, I just really do not wan't to buy another laptop, lol..... maybe a patch of some kind will come out. That is if its a bug.

I FAILED to mention, its so simular to connection lag, hard to explain, its like... just my character is spazzing out, and facing different directions it jumps from 2 FPS to 30 35ish, but I'm probly just describing the symptoms of a horrible graphics card lol, I just never experianced it before, I've always had some what descent desktops in the past.

This is probly a stupid question, but.... if I do have a Graphics card that is in a MXM slot, why wouldn't I be able to switch it out with another one? What other slot would my GMA 4500MHD be in? PCI slot of some kind? But then woulnd't I be able to just switch that one as well? Or do I have no idear what my GMA 4500MHD loos like? Sorry.

Most stuff in a laptop is proprioty to that brand of laptop/that style of laptop
on desktops everything more or less has a standard for a few different styles, While laptops, Being so compact, Dont have that usually.

I don't think you can compare BF2

R with Crysis, different games means different engine. The Crysis game is built for that such environment that is present in that game. The PR-mod pushes the limits of the BF2 game to the top and the engine is not built for that kind of environment. I think it all comes down to how the games are coded, the games handle textures and other stuff different and newer games handle them better. (My opinion)

Umm yeah... thats called lag. But you still need a new PC. I recommend a desktop because it will save you money in the long run, because you can just swap out a single part instead of having to buy a whole new PC.

Take a look at my system specs. Do you guys think I can play Crysis in medium detail? If I can play BF2 Original on High? Then again I could just download the Crysis DEMO, derrr.... Games though..... I was thinking last night, I think games and heaven are connected, eventualy we are going to hit a realism point where the virtual world will depict the real world. Maybe thats how heaven works.... all technology, heaven is a virtual world, that we created, for ourselves, to save our souls, boy O' boy would that be rewarding to learn when you die. I always thought there was something..... strange about 80's rainbow technology lol. So.... if i think about it, maybe we are almost there.... sort of like "The Matrix," just reversed, Heaven is the MATRIX and this world is the..... world with men in black coats. Forgive me... I did just smoke a premium ciggerette. ~RC

I think it might have something to do with blackholes and C.E.R.N . I beleive all blackholes are man-made, might of been created with C.E.R.N. (Time Warp) ~RC

theres your problem you bought something with a intel GPU
intel GPUs suck they are all integrated and have about 128 or 256 dedicated ram, they take from your processor and RAM.
overclocking wont help TBH im surprised you even run vBF2 on high
also laptop GPUs are ridiculously expensive my 3650 costs 300 euros -_- while for a desktop it costs 50euros brand new, depending on your laptop size and the type of slot your GPU uses they are interchangeable but for a decent one you can buy high end cards for the desktop. Best way to check if you can upgrade is going into device manager>Display adapters>right click on your card>properties>details>hardware ids, if it says PCI it is if not then new PC sadly.

theres this little EDIT button learn to use it.

Thanks you so much for the response, your the first person to be able to simple tell me how to tell if I can change my video card. Thank you, I can run BF2 on high because I have tweaked some things. 2 more questions though, sorry... you tell me to look for PCI, then what is an MXM Slot? And if I can change out my video card for my laptop, where the heck can I buy a video card for my laptop, because all I can find online is used cards on eBay, and they are all MXM Slot cards, what ever that is. I thought is was like PCI just different because its laptop. ~RC... Thanks for the response.

well they could be replaceable though IDK, and buying them is a pain, best go to a computer shop near you best buy PC world what ever you have and ask them if its replaceable the store guys might tell you other wise so ask them to ask their IT department or something, but as i said laptop cards arent regularly available so you might have to wait for a month for a new one and it will be overpriced, if you have warranty on your laptop do not open it tell them to replace the card.
What ever you buy make sure it has pixel shader 3.0 and 512 mb of dedicated ram at least and dont buy intel GPUs EVER.
here is a site that might help
http://www.mxm-upgrade.com/ though be careful since putting a high end card on a laptop with not so good cooling will quickly melt it

Sorry I took so long to get back, but I just checked my device manager, and it says...."PCI/VEN." Is this good or bad?
