it appears when i start the pr.exe

i have vista. and bf2 runs perfect

its likely that bug appeared because of a bad installation. try reinstallation and if that doesnt work or to prevent likely wasting time redownload it: PR 0.95 Download

for those interested:
it basically says that that a procedure in "staticmesh.fx" tries to open the file "datatypes.fx" which cant be opened for various reasons (i.e. its not there).

I think reinstallation should work.
Try updating your GPU Drivers...

have you tried playing a armored fury or euro forces map in BF2, since xpack is part of 1.50 patch not PR. reapply patch 1.50 see if it works. if this doesnt work do what other people said, but be sure to completely delete BF files uninstall PR/delete files

i only have bf2 original

and i reinstalled pr like 3 times.
if i would download xpack would it work?

with patch 1.50 armored fury and euro forces are free and xpack is those 2 expansions -_- its nice to read patch notes

huh they are free? where can i download them? WTF

my bf2 version is 1.1.2551.0
and when i try to patch to 1.6 it says i already have a older version.................

erm do this then
uninstall BF2 delete all the files that the uninstall process doesnt remove
1. Install BF2.
2. Patch to 1.41.
3. Patch to 1.5.
4. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 1.
5. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 2.
6. Install PR Client v0.957 Part 3.

and There's a Flippin EDIT button USE IT!!!

so i click on login. and the moment i should get to the menu. the game dissapears and im on my desktop again

What order did you install in? You shouldnt be installing 1.5 after PR I think. I would also try logging in on regualr BF2 first.

Follow this order:

Battlefield 2 (Check if the game works just fine), Patch 1.41 (Check if the game works just fine), Patch 1.50 (Check if the game works just fine), PR 1 of 3, PR 2 of 3, PR 3 of 3.

You could also try deleting your Profiles folder and then retrieving your account again in the game. It might be possible that your saved log in information got corrupted, I was messing with my Profile.con file recently and forgot to change one thing in it and I got this same issue.

did you install 1.41 other wise game will crash after applying patches you need to reinstall PR

This happened to me for a while so I made another account with a similar name.
there probably is a way to fix it but i'm just lazy like that.
