A place to organise matches

Hi guys,

Several clans have come together in order to have a place to organise matches/scrims.

The War Arrangers site serves as a meeting place to provide War Arrangers (WA) of clans, a central place to arrange scrims/matches.

Normally arranging a match means searching the Internet for different clans, hoping they have the same interests/games played as your clan. This then means visiting lots of different clan websites, signing up to their forums and hoping you get hold of their war arranger. Even then, you're not done... you still hope they can play in your proposed scrim. This takes a lot of time and effort.

Instead, you can sign up to the WA site once... post a scrim request... and that's it. 99% of the time you will get a clan that accepts your request/challenge. But at the WA site, we go further. Some clans can't get enough people to have a match so at wararrangers.com, you can put in your post a request for another clan to help your clan.

Even more, if you have a public server you can ask that other clans join your server much like a scrim request.

Now for a little history. Here is the old test site so you can see what this site will be like: http://projectreality.groupsite.com/discussion/forums

The site developed from a test version. The site became so popular that we have now put together a larger site.

Please also note we'll also be supporting ARMA II: PR.

Just remember the new site is just that, new. But from the old site you can see what it'll shape up to be.

Good initiative. Although you do know theres a website called clanbase that really does the same thing? But I'm sure ClanBase hasnt got PR in there so good one for doing a separate website for that.

I'd work on the cluttered homepage tho if its just for organising clanmatches I'd lead with that instead of all that information. People are coming to the website for setting up skirms and checking other clans. But to get there you need to click a tiny link tugged away in a menu. (just read a usability chapter in my webdesign book ;) )

I hope you can get all the clans together on this and that it works out for you :)

Clanbase is for gaming ladders, not just simple matches. We're not concentrating on tournaments/ladders. They don't support PR, but I think it's better to have a simpler website and forum for arranging matches.

Clanbase also doesn't support 'server coalition' events. WarArrangers will remain advertless and will not charge for a "VIP" status as there is no VIP requirement.

If I were to compare the homepage of clanbase to WarArrangers, then I would say that the clanbase site is a lot worse but clanbase seems to be doing well for itself. But I'll take the constructive critisism and see what I can do to make it 'idiot proof'.

You didnt understand my clanbase comparison. I said it was a good thing you guys made something especially for PR as ClanBase was to large and probably did not have a PR side.

You should indeed not look towards clanbase for User Interface improvements. Like you said they are much bigger and indeed worse with there cluttered interface.

Tugging in a big: Post Match and Look for Match button that goes directly towards the respective forum sections should do the trick. Just make them stand out on an area where people look at when they just arrived on the website (top left, banner area for example).

I think it would be nice to have a system/ladder here in the reality mod site

I did understand, because I pointed out they don't do the "same thing". Nor do they look alike... but as I said, I'll take your constructive critisism and see what I can do to make it 'idiot proof'.

Possible but only after the user has created a login, had it activated and had the relevent group assigned to them so they can post.

This procedure is in place to ensure quality over quantity.

A ladder system is going to be elsewhere for the time being.

War Arrangers News Update, March 2011

It has been a month since the new site became public. We are glad to see the original members still participating and getting their scrims organised. There are some new members too that are starting to get involved.

25 clans are registered to the site, most of whom have introduced themselves in one way or another and we have arranged 24 events so far. That's 6 events arranged per week and getting higher very quick.

Things are also starting to kick off with Arma II (A2). Hopefully, Project Reality for A2 is coming out very soon and we believe there will be good recruitment for those clans involved with PR:A2 because new players will be looking for clans.

Because of this, we now have a dedicated PR:A2 sections in the site's forum.

War Arrangers News Update, June 2011

Good afternoon. We have made great strides in the PR and ARAM sections with users joining in from all around the world.

The site has come a long way from a small group of clans... we have over thirty clans participating and have hosted a vast number of events.

New Features

Soon will be be hosting a calendar and advertising board. The board will allow clans to have a visual pinboard so they can 'stick' up a graphical advert for an event. That way users, can simply have a single point of reference as opposed to reading through a lot of text. Lastly, a calendar will allow clans to see when other clans do and don't have matches already organised to avoid overlaps and confusion.

Take care,
WarArrangers.com

War Arrangers News Update, July 2011

Good afternoon. Well, the summer period has seen a quiet period for the
gaming community but don't let that stop you from planning in advance for
the autumn and winter. Be sure to get your scrims arranged now so you
ensure that you don't leave matches until the last minute and unable to get
another clan involved.

Also, an idea has been put forward to include a map showing our members. If
you want to be included in the team, PM Super64 to get your nearest major
city put on the map. This will improve visibility for your clan and show
that your clan is willing to participate in the gaming community. As it is
said, the more you put in... the more you get out.

Take care,
WarArrangers.com

Hi guys,

I'd like to start helping with reruitment for our clans. I'm putting together a Google Map that people can use to see what clans are suitable for them, in their region. This map will be included in a dedicated recruitment website soon to be released.

A lot of clans are 'multi-national'. While it is good for all clans to be fully inclusive, I still need to be able to put a marker on where you clan is mainly located.

Therefore, I am will base the marker on where your game servers are held. This will allow public/non-clan players to see what the quality of their connection to your server will be like.

Please PM me if you want your clan on the map. Remember, that if your clan is not on the map then you are less likely to recruit than other clans in your region... so be the first!

You will find the link for Clan Maps in the top bar (or go to: WarArrangers.com • Home).

You can also let me know where your server is for the server list too:
WarArrangers.com • Home

War Arrangers News Update, October 2011

Well, Battlefield 3 is out and most of us will be looking at playing this religiously over the coming months. Rusty in Places has been the first to list their server with War Arrangers and is one of the busiest European servers.

As some of you might be aware, there has been a Competizione section added to the menu system. This is in preparation of a competition system.

I can tell you now that we are very close to having a ladder and tournament system hosted at War Arrangers. The software was recently tested and is now in the Release Candidate phase. Once the RC is made available to us, we will then officially launch 'Competizione'.

This will also mean that War Arrangers is no longer limited to a single platform. If your clan participates in console matches, we can also cater for those too.

The ladder system will host not only PC but Xbox 360 and PS3 titles.

Tournaments will also be available to us. So expect to see some serious clan battling for the top slots and awards.

Because War Arrangers is expanding and we're happy to see so many clans involved. But this is key - involvement. The more you put in, the more you get out of WA.

Jan 2012 - WarArrangers.com Update

First off, we hope 2012 is going well for you. But let's get straight to the good stuff... the Competizione section of WarArrangers.com has gone live. You can now create a clan on the site and join our ladders/leagues and tournaments. As many clans will, you can join as many as you want and if you have more than one War Arranger in your clan, then that's no problem because you can have them join your clan and a co-clan leader.

In our leagues, the more matches/scrims your clan plays, the more points they could earn and points mean positions. The question is, can your clan take first place. And if so, can it stay there? We hope to see you battling for the highest points.

Lastly, tournaments will be scheduled for those that want to try to win the ultimate honour - to scrim against other clans and claim victory for the year.

Sounds good!
I hope this will help.

And organise is spelled. Organize.

Shouldn't this be in the clan forum?

If I were American, yes it would be. But for a change, us Brits use both -ise and -ize.
