1.41 patch can't find bf2 folder

When I try to install the patch I get an error saying "Can't find the install folder for Battlefield 2(TM)."

Did you install BF2 or just copy it from somewhere else? It is probably not finding the registry entries.
I suggest turning off UAC and security software during the whole installation process.

I think there's a way to work around that problem.. Something with changing a string in Regestry.. Google it. I'm sure this is a pretty common problem..

If you're running 64bit, try "C\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2"

From the looks of it you are running Windows7.
However the error message states WindowsXP this leads me to think that you are running the installer in compatibility mode. From my experience this is not neccessary.
Please try to provide some more information on how you have installed BF2.

EA GAMES>
BATTLEFIELD 2>
New String Value Name "InstallDir"
Enter Date as Battlefield 2 Install Location with no \ on the end.
