Pilot dies in Passenger Seat

Hi, i have a thing to tell:
I was playing today some rounds coop (to train chopper) and got shot and managed to make a emergency landing and to survive the crash alive. Now i requested a Trans Heli to evacuat me. I entered the Heli (at the back seats), and got killed because of the "You can't use this vehicle"-Message.
I think i should be able to sit at the backseats and get a fly when i am with a pilot kit.

I hope you guys can understand my text above. Feeling a little bit exhausted because of school and english is not my primary language.

Request a drop-kit and you can safely fly home and get a new pilot kit.

Your english is excellent, I'm afraid the choice avaliable at the time was either to keep pilots unarmed, which people didn't like, or to have it set up like this to prevent pilots parachuting in to combat as the above post states. Perhaps different provisions will be made in the future, but this is the reasoning for now.

Oh ok, i wasn't sure if this was so intented to be. Ofcourse I thought AFTER this of dropping my kit first next time. And thanks for that response to me Rudd. Going to take my A-level (i'm not sure, but i think this is it in english standards) in english as well :P

well even if they were unarmed, they could drop there kit and use their firsts to kill an enemy and grab their kit....

so either way...

but yeah thats the reason why. lock?

I dont think there has been much feedback regarding this feature so far, so I think this thread will remain open unless the moderators decide otherwise...and don't worry - the Mods will lock threads that need locking without requiring advice

Thank Midnight, not me.

anyway, for some feedback:
I dont see a problem with it. your ready to be picked up, you toss your smoke and drop you kit. simple.

The problem is for those who's not aware of the fact that pilots may not be passengers in a chopper.
Hopefully a lot of people will read this thread, and don't enter the back seat of a chopper with a pilot kit :)

Shouldn't only jet pliots get parachutes? I would think that making a limited jet pliot kit would be the best idea, if thats the way it is in the real life.

We need a new solution to the "pilots as passengers" problem for 2 reasons:
1) It is important for downed but alive pilots to be rescued by trans.
2) The current fix does NOT solve the "paratroopers" problem. When people want to deploy to an area by chute, they generally just co-ordinate with the other passengers (most if not all of which are going to be jumping with him), and rapidly switch seats again and again so it does not kick them out.

I'm not sure how the coding will work, but there needs to be a system that both effectively stops paratroopers AND lets pilots receive an evac.

Downed Pilots can just drop their kit before being picked up. It's not like they're going to be doing much with a pistol while riding back to base in a chopper.

I have question.

Is this change made because people/game is against people using handgun as weapon or against using parachute kit to deploy players like paratrooper?

Heli Pilot; No Parachute, Pistol, Can Operate Rotor-Wing Only. Seeing as Parachutes take 20 seconds to fully activate anyway you'd have to be flying at 400-500 Meters to safely use it. (the only map that really works for is Kashan in Apaches)

Jet Pilot, Parachute, Pistol, Can Operate Fixed-Wing Only.
I still think my suggestion from a long time ago is a better work around...

And what stops people with a jet kit from riding in a heli? A black screen that tells then to GTFO?

Just curious, how often does everyone actually see a pilot eject?

Been playing for ages, never seen it.

most of the time it's downed pilots who survived helicopter crash... jet pilots rarely eject. But I've seen many times downed chopper pilots being rescued behind enemy lines by other choppers.

In all the time I've been playing this game I have survived 1 crash landing in this game. Then I bled out.
