Lost connection to server (New router to blame?)

Hi,
I decided to install BF2 and PR in hype for BF3. Not played 0.97 yet so I was quite excited to play a new version.
However I keep getting kicked which is un-usual for me, the only thing I can think of; during my time of not playing PR, I have purchased a new router (BELKIN Surf 3 - model # : F7D1301uk).
Not sure why it is giving me jip, the only thing I can think of is a firewall on it perhaps? (which is enabled) my old router was fine. I have tried port forwarding, but that never works for me anyway.
Haven't even played a bit of PR yet, sad face!
What can I do?

Look through the BF2 support forum...
This is probably your problem though:
Disconnect problems
In short: Your router is probably reading the massive traffic from BF2 packages and ingame VOIP as spam/threats.

I updated my Firmware and I managed to get into a game, only tried once and got in. Not going to say it's fine as I bet when I want to play tonight, I will get the same shit again. We'll see!!

Good luck bro. if things dont work out check out the PR support forums, you should be able to find solutions there.
quick note if later on you start to CTD between map rotations or a lot of visual lag in urban areas, plug in a USB flash drive and set up ready boost (if you're on windows 7 there should be a tab for it in properties)

Hello, I just thought I would share my experience with routers and disconnecting.
Pretty much every time i connect to a server with the in game voip enabled I am kicked from the server before I can spawn in. Back at the server menu the server I was joining disappears. Resetting my router brings the server back on the list. The problem has gone with me through 3 computers and two operating systems.
The only way to avoid this is to disable voip, join server and then enable it. After that everything is fine, even when loading new maps.
Hope your firmware update solves your issue (it hasn't worked for me) but if you keep encountering problems try this method.

I have turned VOIP before joining and it seems to fix it (and I turn it back on when i'm in and it's fine). Everything seems ok, I was just dropped from a server, but It may of been 'normal' as there were no flags in my routers security log.
I just had a good look in my routers interface and there is no 'intrusion detection' or anti'dos settings in there to turn off. Only thing that I can enable/disable is the firewall.
