TS and Mumble incompatibility

This happens when I use my laptop to play PR:

Asus U52F-BBL9
Processor: Intel Core i5-460M
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Processor Speed: 2.53 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Graphics Card: Intel GMA HD

I can run ts and play pr fine, same with mumble and play it fine. However when I have both programs open and I play, they both basically cancel out the sound so I can barely hear people from either program. I tried running as adminstrator with no luck. Does anyone have a method of resolving this?

  1. Run both as administrator to rule out problems.
  2. Disallow exclusive control: For your playback (and recording device): right click on speaker icon, select "Playback devices", double click on your sound output device (usually "Speakers") go to advanced, untick "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
  3. stop automatically reducing volume: in the "Sound" window go to "Communications"-tab and select "do nothing"
