I tried to find one for this, but could not. Forgive me if this is not a Dev bug, but hey its worth me posting.

Description: In Muttrah I played on the Marine team. We took all the flags, yes even MEC main. I was killed once and saw I could spawn in the suburbs (still as a Marine) where one of the main MEC spawns is. So I spawned there thinking "easy way to get into the fight quick". When I spawned there I noticed the "time till I fry you for being out of bounds" time limit. I also noticed... MEC guys sitting around... so I start shooting and running like a mad man wanting to live of course. But I did not make it out and the server killed me (and my squad, I was not the only one spawning there).

Reproduce: I cannot reproduce this effectively because of the constraints of actually taking each and every flag.

Screen Shot: None as I have never seen all the flags taken that fast, and just figured "I must be able to spawn there if the game lets me". By the time I realized something was wrong the game was over.

it's because the spawn point is related to the last flag (the fortress). So whoever controls the flag can spawn there.

The reason you died is because the dome of death is NOT connected to the flag (and cant be afaik).


only way around it would be to remove the flag controlled spawn points and replace them with noexpire mapper placed rallypoints.

So is this a server side issue, or actual game issue?

game issuse, this is an old bug, never spawn in an enemy main base even if you can see the spawn because 97% of mainbases have a DoD

Cheers for reporting but its not a bug that we can easily fix and nor dose it affect gameplay all that much.

iirc dynamic combat areas (aka DoDs) were not pursued because the correct messages didn't pop up for players, so people would walk in to one and suddenly die not knowing the cause.

So rule of thumb, you can't spawn in the Enemie's main, even if theres a point for you to do so

But no trouble since if you are at that point, you've probably won anyhow.
