Experiencing sound in Battlefield to the fullest

Hey guys, I've been enjoying Battlefield games for years now but I've always used a headset for all my mic needs. However since I bought myself a nice new speaker system I've been less keen on using my headset (because it doesn't sound as good)
But that means if I want to use my mic I need to put on my headset (which hijacks the sound so I only get sound through the headphones) so I come to you, oh PR community with a question.
What sort of non-headset mics exist that wont:
A. Pick up my sound coming from my speakers and drown out my own voice/annoy the hell out of everyone on my team
B. Replace my speaker system for output
I've heard throat mics are an option, but I've also heard they are pretty rubbish, although if you have personal experience with them do share! I've never got a straight answer/review for the ones that work on PCs, only the ones for paintballing/airsoft etc.
I've also heard clip-on mics are an option but I don't want one I need to lean into to make work (or have to turn up so it ends up picking up my speaker noise)
Please share and thanks in advance!

I put mine around my neck with the mic close to my mouth, and if im feeling like not having something on my neck I put them on the desk mic facing me, they pick my voice up very well and I have never had a problem with feedback or people hearing my audio.

Have you ever thought that your headsets speakers were shit quality and that's why your speakers sound so good compared the them. I'm a sound engineer and 5 years ago I bought myself Fatal1ty headphones just because I thought they would be good for gaming. Right of the bat I realised that the sound quality of those headphones were complete **** compared to all my other headphones. They Fatal1ty ones have very high bass boost and a not so much middle range, so all you can hear was explosions really loud. But in PR for example the foot steps etc. and a lot of other sounds are in the mid range of sound frequences, so those sounds would get lower, and you did not hear the steps so well. Also the mic in the head set was pretty **** as well, but barely decent enough.
I recommed high quality headphones and for example this mic:
AUDIO TECHNICA ATR 3350 - Thomann Verkkokauppa
This could be a good and fairly cheap headset even thought I would never buy it, but maybe goes to the regular gamers budjet and is 10 times better than a Soundblaster/Fatal1ty/any other **** brand:
SENNHEISER PC-151-HEADSET - Thomann Verkkokauppa
You are not going to be able to use VOIP without other players hearing your game sounds while speaking in VOIP or mumble, when you are using loud speakers and a mic.

The gameplay noise shouldn't be an issue when playing. My old setup used speakers and no one ever complained to me.

i use xbox 360 controller hooked up with their cheap mic. i disable the speaker on the mic in the "playback" tab. then use it for voice only. no complaints about quality yet.
couldn't you just disable your headphones in playback and just use it as a mic around ur neck or something?

an $8 mic from amazon will do you fine, hang it off your shirt or whatever, and if people can hear in game sounds through your mic then turn your volume down?

I use the new Bose Headphones with noise blocking (for wife and hungry cats) and have a crappy headset wrapped around my neck(this makes me feel like a pilot) and i only remove the "neckset" for eating.

I got a pair of Shure headphones (not the in-ears). They have the best overall range of any headphones I've used. I get great sound quality and there is a distinction between sounds and the direction they are coming... I can hear vehicles, fire and foot steps from the direction they are coming from.
They are $200 headphones but I picked them up, brand new (factory sealed) for $141 on Ebay. I got them for music, and they blow Sennheiser and Bose out of the water, and just so happens they are fantastic for PR as well. I'd pay $200 for them but I got a great deal - look at Amazon and Ebay.

I hang my big **** 7.1 headset around my neck and use that with the mic up. I dunno how I sound to other people but nobody's complained -
If anyone wants to give my 'setup' feedback here's the place to do it boyos!

Perhaps they break because you didn't spend much money on them?
That said, the headset I use cost me like 10 bucks several years ago. The headphones are dead by now, but I'm using the speakers anyway, the mic works fine.

I got a ?50 new set Used off eBay for ?20 inc postage. then I found a crack, and one of the speakers doesn't work (7.1), so I got him to knock ?10 off instead of me returning it to him. ?10 has lasted me a year which i'm happy with
