I think I've grown some kind of phobia to AT weapons and TOW missiles especially when I'm in armored or attack chopper. I feel like i was raped or something whenever i get hit by one, and im sure it wouldn't be so bad if ur crewman didn't ride ur *** about it. Yea you can tell me to drive better but I'm sure even the best drivers got hit by HATs sometimes. what about you guy, any of you developed a phobia to anything?

The gunner should be more ashamed than you in this situation for not suppressing or killing the shooter.... unless if you already know there is a HAT or TOW in that area.
Driver errors would be if you flip the damn thing or fail to act on the gunners directions like... stop or move so i can aim downwards.... etc.
Besides Tow / HAT > Armour.... so in any case its not really a big failure if your taking out by these.... its part of the game.
If you take care you should always be able to avoid AT mines. IED's and C4 is another story.
I have a Bridge phobia when driving. Even if i think it might be clear i always use the longest way around it or find a land-bridge.

I have a phobia as holy sh1t does it make me jump when I get TOW'd or run over a mine as I usually have the volume maxed out to listen to other vehicles. Scares the hell out of me sometimes.

Sometimes Insurgent factions take an unarmed car and think its a bomb car. So when they ram my tank, its a fail on their part.
My biggest phobia are the Tornados and A-10s, because without hearing or seeing anything. Your tank goes boom and the black DEAD screen flashes on my monitor. You get that feeling that somebody was watching you the whole time.

Getting shot down in armour by a HAT or TOW is 99% the drivers fault... Only if the guy is literately right in front of you and the gunner misses for like 3 seconds is it his fault.
Just the same as the pilot of an attack heli has to take 100% of the blame...unless the gunner shoots hell-fires on the helipad.
In organised play (PRT, clan matches etc.) armour is almost useless in attacking. Its all about using it at the right time and denying enemy to move into your area with assets.
In clan matches Ive played we only used only 1 BMP on kashan, for instance, and let the CAS and HATs take everything out. This is one of the problems with PR; generally the more assets a team uses, the quicker they lose tickets. You may say that its because they are using the assets wrong. Well, its very difficult to use assets effectively against a good team.

therefore maybe a reduction of AT wepons might in order if tank etc. cannot be used effectivly as they are IRL?

Absolutely not, since a reduction in AT means lesser chance for infantry survivability, and inf suffers enough problems as it is.

There is no warning sounds when driving tanks etc. like there is when there is an AA lock in the Air, so where is the difference in the driver and the gunner for not spotting the enemy? they both got eyes don't they?. In-fact the driver field of view is more limited than the gunner since the driver has to watch out for moving things that he could crash into where as the gunner can scan 360 degree freely. Of-course since it is a game a good driver will also spin his camera view but a normal driver would look where he is going and the gunner/commander would scan for threats.
In a team oriented view it is neither the driver or gunner....its the infantry or scouts for not spotting the threat before it was too late and reporting it. Of course you can also say that the driver should have asked for Intel before moving in.

someone has to die sometime in this game...sometimes its gonna be you
its only truely your fault if you're being reckless, in a perfect world the infantry are scouting for you and you are close behind the infantry to cover them, it doesnt always happen for various reasons, and when it doesnt you have to survive by constant vigiliance, if you back off and leave your infantry to the mercy of the enemy then apparently you're a 'asset whore idiot', if you come forward and fight with your infantry and get HATed, youre apparently an ''asset whore idiot'.
Sometimes the enemy just have skill, and sometimes its the squad thats asking for tank support that should have warned you.
just do your best, try and be there for your team, use your mobility (move forward, strike, withdraw, repeat) to keep one step ahead of their AT.

I agree.
People always look at things black and white if for example a APC Driver+gunner has 0 kills that means he is wasting assets!
What if the Apc moved a full squad over an open field...dropped them off....moved back and supressed some enemys while the infantry is moving closer to take em out.....then the APC gets blown up by a HAT.
The blown up APC = 5 tickets and the possible 2 dead crewmen = another 4 tickets. The attacking squad took out the threat and had maybe 1 wounded soldier = 1 lost point.
If the APC in the other hand had denyed to transport the squad across the field and they all gets killed by enemy fire then that is 12 lost tickets.

Jack-in-the-box HAT > any armor.
Every since i realized this i see a heavy AT in every bush and a TOW around every corner. Some might call it a phobia, i just call it Murphy's law. If you have a vehicle you can be sure the enemy has some kind of AT weapon close by.

Gracler...if you were a attack chopper pilot you would realise lock = death 90% of the time.
Its the person who is doing the positioning fault. ie driver/pilot.
Asking if there is a HAT in the area is the way to get killed. Just suspect (like Bufl4x said) a AT is everywhere. You will live a lot longer.
PR has 90% of players that don't use common sense.

Okay, so lets leave all the armour in the base. Lets use air support. Oh wait, lets assume there is AA all over the map, lets leave all the air support in the base. Lets go infantry. Oh wait, lets assume there is always someone watching you, lets stay in the base. Lets not play PR. Derp?

To me learning to fly or gun or drive in whatever vehicle is just learning how to do it, but to prepare yourself for getting raped, I can gun in armour effectively but asking me to drive is another thing, I just can't because I'm worried that I'll mess up. Same with flying.
It takes a certain amount of being prepared to fly or drive. you'll get it, and don't be scared of AT or the such.

I'd say if you fail and lose an asset few times in a row and changing your tactics doesn't help, just leave the asset alone and try something different. There's never enough infantry squads. Or maybe use a different kind of vehicle, for example, if your tank is getting owned by enemy tanks use a specialized AT vehicle (TOW humvee, AT spandrel) or go inf and do some spotting for CAS. Also you can build a TOW in a good location or just grab a HAT. You getting killed as a soldier will do much less damage to the team ticketwise.
