A cheaper one I've used for years is the Logitech MX518 wired.
I'm on my third one of these, so I might be a bit bias, but I've been using it since 2004.
2 extra thumb buttons for a total of 5 buttons.
Includes variable DPI which is super sexy when manning armor or gunning aircraft in BF2

R .
As with most MX series Logitech mouses, can run automated profiles for different games/software, which is also nice.
You can pick up a MX518 for under $30 shipped.
After that you move up to the Logitech G500 which is more like $60. Has like 7 buttons though.

I have a saitek cyborg mouse and its great, there is one thing that annoys me which is the mouse wheel(its made of a rubbery substance which absorbs moisture and expands, which means I can get stiff after a few months in which case you can rtb with the free 2 year warranty, or do what I did, and take a file to it and lengthen the wheel hole.) The mouse comes with more buttons than you can shake a stick at, including a very robust 8 way hat switch near the thumb, 3 other buttons located around the thumb and 3 config modes which you can switch between and adjust dpi and what each button does((which is limitless). Also length adjustable by 15mm. But then again they have a new set out called the rat series which lol insane but are even more customisable.
