Contest: PR Artwork (Paid)

Hi guys, sorry if this doesn't go in PR General (please let it here if possible).

Following this thread:

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... -page.html

Objetive: Make a PR epic background at high resolution. (Digital ART, MUST BE same quality and stlye than the Crysis picture below)
Design to follow(*): http://foros.realitymodla.com/images/bg_crysis.jpg
Payment (**): Up to US$ 150
Deadline: 11/04

Rules:

1) (*) This is for a PR webpage, the design must be like the crysis picture. (Some destructive Iraq City view, guy in the left (this is important because will be the most seen in the webpage, the middle isn't so important since the content is there)
Hint: Insurgent / BLUFOR soldier with defiant look, a weapon in his hand.
If it's an insurgent, I would suggest a Dragunov or a RPG.
If the weapon is a RPG, maybe a BLUFOR tank/apc destroyed in the back, in fire and with heavy smoke.
You can add some choppers / apc / tank if the design is ea.com/battlefield3 like.

1.1) Images must not be screenshots in first person (like game view)

2) The artwork must be in High Resolution and High Quality (Like Crysis one)

3) The artwork must be as real / detailed as you can, (see the Crysis character to see the quality im looking for).

4) Post your images with watermarks to avoid stealing.

5) As the image will be paid, this means I'll be the owner, you are selling it in other words, Rights will be mine once paid.

The payment would be done via Paypal.

Other: I put emphasys on the crysis image because of the quality and how good it is. I find it ideal at concept.

This is the first time I pay for an image. I must say that US$ isn't our official money, we have a devaluated money and US$150 is very expensive.

Other than the payment, you must know that this is to spread the word of PR in the Latin American region (Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico, etc). So you would be doing more than working and gaining some money, for PR.

You can look at this pack of images, maybe you find some idea for the artwork: http://download.realitymodla.com/Files/ ... s4chuc.rar

I'd suggest that you don't use Battlefield 2 images unleast you can "masterize" it with photoshop (BF2 has some ugly graphics)

Thank you.

PS: If any doubt, contact me via PM / MSN ([email protected]).

Thank you for participating.

This may need some more time on my behalf. Can someone possibly more arty than me consider giving me some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism?

Give me a day or two. :) I'll see what I can come up with. :D

(and if i'm not mistaken, you essentially want a "drawn" digital art. Nothing screenshot or anything like that. You want it to be all done PERSONALLY, to make it feel more.... how you say... Epic? )

Yeah, sadly BF2 doesn't have so good graphics to use it as High Quality.....

I must admit, BF3 does have some good graphics:

I'm sorry guys, i'm sure you will get a good result, especially for that money. What about a picture competition with a prize?

Sorry I can't make a competition here since I posted in other Art forums, the best pic gets the money.

Hmmm! I'm seriously considering this. I'm getting more and more skilled with a 3d program so I might be able to whip something up. What sort of deadline are we talking about?

Good man that you offer cash for such a work of art btw. hats off to you :)

Approximately one week for deadline, let's say like until 11/04

Oh wauw! That is very strickt! You'r looking for someone who already has a piece of art lying around or someone who has a fulltime workweek of free time AND has another income from something else.

Because in a work of art like you want theres going to be a lot of hours. Or one of the devs is able to cook something up because I believe they can use the models. Dont think we are allowed to just grab a model out of PR and use it to make money ;)

The average time of an artist, for a picture like this is 8-9hs with Photoshop

You need sauce with that (source). I cant believe something like that Crysis or BF3 thing would take 8 to 9 hours for a person who has no game-models.

Now remember, if you are not a dev you need to either make the 3d model and photoshop the background in there (or 3d that as well), or go sketch it like Midnight does. But than you wont end up with such a realistic image. It will look hand drawn.

As an R-DEV or a DICE dev I can just walk up to my desk, load up a soldier model, pose it, render it out and start working. Thats what I mean.

Yeah but that's for Crysis, I want a war picture (much more common, I've only seen a guy with nanosuit once =P).

You can google images for: Soldier + Iraq City + RPG + Tank, etc.

He's not asking for strictly PR or BF2 renders. There's no need to use the in game models or any 3D model at that.

So nothing new or innovative then? Nothing to set the game aside from the homogeneous 'gritty, realistic and immersive' shooters out there?
