[Help] ObjectLight.con settings

Hey guys... yes it's me again :-D

I've now successfully converted OGT so I can start editing the map in the editor but the map is very dark some places. I think it's the editor that have reseted the light settings for the map in the ObjectLight.con... Or else I've done something wrong when I converted the detail/colormaps, which I've double checked now.

I would appreciate it if some of you guys would look at the code in my ObjectLight.con file and tell me what looks wrong and what I should config.
rem ******** Lightmap Generation Settings ********
if v_arg1 == BF2Editor

LightMapGeneration.init
LightMapGeneration.GILightsBaseDir 0/0.5/-0.5
LightMapGeneration.GILightsIntensity -1
LightMapGeneration.GILightsShadowIntensity -1
LightMapGeneration.GILightsFov -1
LightMapGeneration.UseGITopLight 0
LightMapGeneration.GITopLightIntensity 0.1
LightMapGeneration.GILightsViewDistance 50
LightMapGeneration.skyWhite 0
LightMapGeneration.numberOfGILights 0.5
LightMapGeneration.sunLightShadowIntensity -1
LightMapGeneration.sunLightFov 8
LightMapGeneration.sunLightIntensity -1

endIf
As you can see I've already set the numberOfGILights to 0.5 which was 0 to begin with. That helped a little but the maps still seems pretty dark some places...

Thanks for your input

Well GILightIntensity is usually 0.33 iirc and numberofGILights is usually about 6 (I know you can have a low amount) so either bump up the intensity or the number of GILights.

is that your map is in the night, because many on your values are negative ?

I think if the value LightMapGeneration.skyWhite equal Zero means that no difference between dark and light.

Look to your TerrainLight.con ,usually this file had the same setting as ObjectLight.con, maybe this file hadn't change ;) You could restored the right setting with it.

I'm unsure what your problem is exactly.

Could you use screenshots?

I don't think your objectlight.con can do much if you're not actually lightmapping the map

you mention detail textures, this leads me to think that you're problem is the terrain not the object?

Screenshots are worth a thousand posts.

Sorry... should have posted a picture to begin with of course... Well it's not the objectlight settings that's wrong after some more searching on the web... Seems like there's something wrong with the colormaps or lowdetailmaps

I used PhotoShop with the .DDS nvidia plugin and saved them as 8:8:8:8 format with one mipmap. Resized the ones which wasn't 512x512.

looks to me its trying to load detailtextures that aren't there, or detailtexures that havent been assigned.

I assume that you've changed something to do with terrain in the editor, that this bug doesnt happen when you simply load the map in PR?

I did assign the texture layers by following this toturial by Outlawz.... If I load up the edited map the problem remains.. The old maps from EOD looks like it should in PR.

have you tried simply copy, pasting the game colormaps and detailmaps to the /mapname/editor/ folder ?

No I haven't.. I'll try it when I come home. I was to believe the maps should be reformatted and sized to 512 before it could work with the editor??

Mhm. Try redoing them and see if it happens again.

Yeah it didn't work. Only got worse. I'll redo the reformation. At least now I have the action file thanks to your link update in the toturial Outlawz. Thanks for replying :-)
