Project Reality 0.95 Bandwidth Usage

Hey!
My Internet package (BT Total Broadband Option 1) has a download limit of 10GB. Every month I go over it. I though PR only uses around 50Mb an hour?

If anybody actually knows how much it uses (maybe including mumble) I would be very grateful :)

Thanks,
Declan

it's not 10 GB a month, try upgrading to 15 GB that usually will help and will give you a good amount to use, if your using wi-fi make sure no-one stealing your connection

Yep, it is 10Gb a month, and the next package up is 40GB (although I'm trying to upgrade to that).

I have no neighbours so they can't be stealing our connection.

Maybe you have a stalker outside of you, and he is using your OWN internet to broadcast images of you naked to his friends? And download videos of other people being stalked?

I am just saying, not more...

And 10Gb should be enough for PR, maybe you have some other applications downloading things while you are playing PR?
Also, watching too much Youtube videos in HD and Full HD should drain your bandwidth.

My Internet speed is only 100KB/s; not half enough for HD video. I was just asking if anyone knew how much PR actually uses.

I actually downloaded a program yesterday (NetBalancer) in order to see how much bandwidth BF2 is taking up while I play. After 20-30 minutes I had downloaded about 30MB or so.

D:

Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Run that, post the specs.

Yeah, NetBalancer is free. You can get it here: NetBalancer

I was curious to see how much bandwidth BF2 was using because my brother and I share the same internet connection, and whenever he plays WoW while I'm on PR I get severe lag. I was looking for a program that told you how much bandwidth a program was using, and came across NetBalancer. It also allows you to limit how much the program downloads/uploads, which I tested, but wasn't able to tell how much it affected my ping.

Eventually my brother closed all the programs he wasn't using and my ping returned to normal. Handy little program, though.

Ran it on my iPod, so it is slower than usual:

you should run the speedtest on a PC.
I think you should really get an upgrade on both speed and bandwidth.
Just curious, how much would it cost to get an unlimited bandwidth internet plan?? cos in here, we get this speed and unlimited bandwidth for only about 12USD per month

How the hell is your internet so fast!!! Now I am really annoyed :(

It is impossible for me to get a speed upgrade; I live up in the north of Scotland, and my internet is the fastest in the area. We used to have an unlimited plan, but it cost 60GBP a month (Probably around 100USD). My 10GB a month is around 20GBP.
