Guys, PB does NOT kick people who use Mumble Overlay!

I use it and I encourage it! By using it, you can tell who's talking on the SL channel and locally.

Just note that, for the overlay to work, you must first enable it ( ) and you MUST CONNECT TO THE PR SERVER (not join a server, say PRTA - just connect mumble) BEFORE you enter the game!

Just wanted put this out there.

I've been using the overlay since I started playing PR and I didn't even know this had problems.

This. Although if you have the Overlay feature enabled Mumble will not work with ATI Tray Tools. But that is irrelevant.

Overlay has always worked fine for me.

i didn't know how to enable the overlay and att still caused problems :/

i know it now though.

Hmm i'm using ATI Tray Tools v1.6.9.1486, it makes mumble crash so I have to disable it (no great loss).

Does it work for you mate? It only crashes Mumble is Overlay is enabled (I also have the FPS Overlay enabled in ATI TT and they compete I think).

I posted this because last night on the 128 players server, I told people about overlay and they said that they didn't use it because they thought PB would kick them for it.

oh cool. well i learned something new today i'll try it later.

i couldn't use att at all with mumble because it would crash my computer.

Some friends had problems with mumble overlay. SERIOUS PROBLEM... It was CD-KEY BAN by PB becose it see Overlay as cheat... I dont no if it happens to all players but it happened before. If someone use it a long time and didnt had problems say here pls

When did anyone say it was kicking people because of the overlay? Am I missing something? I used the overlay always.

Meh they need to make the overlay smaller then I might consider using it. Right now it just clogs up my screen (which is why I believe that most people dont use it)

People should state their name/Squad number/squad name before talking on SL channel anyway. And as cro said it takes away situational awareness. + What good does it add? I know who is talking and If I dont know who is talking it doesnt matter as long as I can hear him.

When I started using Mumble the other day for the first time I enabled overlay. I wasn't aware that PB used to kick for it. Glad to hear it works now. Also, color coding the channels is awesome. Ridiculously simple to know if you're talking to a SL or not.

Just change the settings?

Overlay is great when you're in the SL channel because it only shows the other six squad leaders in your Overlay, but when your squaddies talk their name appears below. I find it an instant way to know which squad is talking (If I've forgotten their voice).

What MiDnighT said. The very first option button on the overlay screen is change font. If you think it's to big change the font size. If you also think it's distracting set it to only show the person talking.

Because people DID get kicked when it first came out.

but PB fixed it.
