Sager 3880 with 2 Gig RAM and Centrino 2.13 GHz, with GeForce 6600 128 RAM, with 72.30 Drivers (Latest offered from Sager), XP Pro with latest patches SP2.
BF2 using software audio at Med. setting, Running at 1280X1024 with everything else set to lowest setting except draw distance is Maxed.

No able to update NVidia Drivers as I need to mess with reg to get them to work and things run smooth enough.

Anything I missed?

Edit:

My install went like this if I remeber right; BF2 Vanilla fresh off CD, BF2 Spec. Forces from CD, last EA patch before 1.4, PRMM 0.314, EA patch incr to 1.4, Test Map Pack, PRMM inc patch to 0.32. At this point I had the CTD. Read on forum needed to uninstall Test Map Pack. Did that but the uninstaller took out too many maps. Used the Full PRMM 0.32 update to re-instrall all the base maps plus the new ones. That is where I am now.

Please also include how you installed, eg: did you use BF2 1.4 full patch or incremental? Did you use PRMM 0.32 full install or patch? If patch, did you use PRMM 0.31 full install or patch?

XP Pro (SP1 w/ latest patches + updates)
NFS-7 nForce2 (Rev 2.0 w/ Soundstorm MCP-T using optical out + latest nvidia nForce drivers)
Athlon XP 3000+ @ 2.3GHz
1 GB DualChan Corsair XMS DDR
9700 Pro @ 9800 Pro (Catalyst 6.8's)
SATA WD Raptor + ATA Hitachi Desktar

EJOD = CTD immediately when I "Join"
All other maps seem to work fine. I did get a CTD ONCE after "Join" on Mao_valley but it seemed to just go away (haven't had a prob since).

INITIAL Test Install Order:

vBF2 -> BF2 Full 1.3 -> PRMM 0314 Full -> Incremental BF2 1.3 to 1.4 -> PRMM 0322 patcher == CTD on EJOD everything else works great

REFRESHED Test Clean Install Order:

vBF2 -> BF2 1.4 Full -> PRMM 0322 Full == CTD on EJOD everything else works great Image

VIDEO Settings (same thing also when i play @ 1024x768 ):

I have found cause of problem :
with Video option
terrain low
efects low
geometry med
text. low
lighting low
dynamic shadows low
dynamic light low
AA off
text filt. low + EJOD Desert = CTD

with Video option
terrain med
efects med
geometry med
text. med
lighting med
Dynamic shadows med
dynamic light med
AA off
text filt. med + EJOD Desert = for 1st time can play it

EDIT:
also can play EJOD Desert with this video settings :
terrain med
efects med
geometry high
text. med
lighting med
Dynamic shadows low
dynamic light off
AA off
text filt. low

so it's have to be terrain, efects or texture

OKAY! It seems to work now! :D

I THINK you nailed it nesa-ltd!

The only setting I changed from my video settings was Terrain. Went from low to medium and it didn't CTD after I "Joined".

Strange...?

PATCH-HISTORY

BF2: 1.3 full -> 1.4 incremental
PRMM: 0314 full -> 0322 patcher

PROBLEM:

On some servers i got a back2menu (no CTD) after hitting "join" at "EJOD Desert"

REVIEW:

i know that some bf2-vid-settings (LightingQuality 1, DynamicShadowsQuality 0 and DynamicLightingQuality 1) are ugly, but performance and quality work stable for 99% of ALL (bf2 and mod) maps.
So it has to be a map glitch !?

Oh yeah, I overlooked that. I don't think Thomazz generated lowdetailmaps... or he messed up the low-res sizes.

Yes it might be the lowDetail maps..
It was my first map - and first time working with the editor..I will have a look at the low-detail maps..and might make new ones if that is possible..

I used the incrementals for both vBF1.4 and PRMM 1.3

I have everything set to high, including landscapes etc. and it still CTD's me (neat eh) when launching Hongshua or whatever it's called, Mao valley works find though?

Computer is a laptop by Extreme Notebooks and plenty fast to run this, never had a problem before, Nvidia 78000 go, 2 gigs of ram etc. etc. :? :

So your actually pretty angry about the situation...

I will be working on the map - for 4 days from now...I hope I find something that I missed out before...

An Nvidia 78.000 sounds like your way ahead of time.. :)
