i was wondering if the anyone in the community knew if the combined arms mod still existed? i have seen many videos on youtube of it and it looks sweet but i cant find it anywhere can some body help?

I talked to CAS about it, but he feels that there's no point, I am trying to convince him to update CA, I even offered to beta test since I know nothing of coding, but as of right now, the brilliant mini mod4mod is somewhat dead. Sniperdog should be able to answer this question

Sniperdog, one of the CA devs was snapped up by the PR dev team. and CAS-117, the mastermind behind CA, went camping in the desert and hasnt been seen since. that was also the week Rhin0 was in town.

i think not! no, the PR devs destroyed CA because they didnt like it.

you have to remember that CA was not officially a part of PR. meaning whenever a new version of PR was released, they had to scramble to fix everything in CA that PR just broke. this is why it basically stopped after .9 was released.

i dont think there were any official servers for CA, it was all organized events. the CA community was only a small fraction of the PR community.

i just checked, and sadly, the CA forums are gone.

Damn, such great mod.

I closed the original CA forums a long time ago, CAS has moved on to other projects and just didn't really like the BF2 engine.

What I'm curious about is whether any more of their work is being implemented into PR, eg. improved aircraft 'physics' and HUDs.

IIRC Sniperdog mentioned a potential overhaul to the aircraft.

The attack chopper huds in PR right now are from CA, TOW huds are from CA as well. And dont forget the flares combined with a couple of other effects.

I was involved a bit with combined arms when I was really getting to grips with mapping, the team just kinda dissolved. That happening was nothing to do with the PR DEVs

CA has had several of its features put in to PR, and perhaps a couple more will feature over time. However some of CA's changes simply won't be implemented because they won't actually work.
