Well, they'll have helmets or other headgear on, so you couldn't really tell.

If it's possible, I suppose we could do a Gurkha random model for the UK forces. But there may be some scale issues.

LOL. That's how my uncle became a tunnel rat during the Vietnam War. He was 5'5". Everyone else was 5'6" or taller.

ghurkas..the only guys i know that can determine what Countries Armed Forces you're affiliated with in the pitch dark, simply by running a finger up the laces of your boots to determine which way they were laced and what type of boot. (meanwhile you're walking on your way without a clue whats at your feet)

That happened to me once, thought it was a rat, so i kicked it, found out it was a ghurka

Also for the scale diffrence, you could make the ghurkas carry around their own booster seat for riding in vehicles...

Gurkhas are a tribal people (there are I believe 5 or 6 major tribes) of Nepal that have been recruited by the British Army into light infantry regiments since after the Sepoy Mutiny in India. Their units, with the exception of British officers, are entirely manned by Gurkhas. At one time there were four Gurkha Rifle Regiments, but in 1994 they were reorganized into a single large regiment (the Royal Gurkha Rifles) with supporting Signals and Engineers units to form the Brigade of Gurkhas. And they are absolutely outstanding light infantrymen, attested to by everyone I have heard who has served alongside them.

As for the photograph, I think it is a case of extremes compared to one another. That's a Norwegian soldier standing next to the Gurkha rifleman, and they tend to be pretty tall. Actually, most current and former infantry types I know are short to average height (though they may have been shortened by years of carrying 100 lbs of gear on road marches), with paratroopers and special ops guys averaging a bit bigger. The combat engineers I've met were six and a half foot mutants.

I worked with a few Airborne Rangers from the States last August, and I can honestly say i've never met a more intimidating group of guys yet. I was with a group of 4-5, and not one of them was under 6'2 and 200 lbs min.

I've seen a lot of pathfinders, paratroopers and JTF-2, but nobody is simply as large as these guys. Maybe it was just coincidence that the 4 or 5 tallest guys they had were in my tent line, who knows. Very nice guys, and turned on like nothing i've scene before.

the most intimidating person ive ever met was Australian SAS and he was 6'5 and bloody massive but he turned out to be one of the nices people ive ever met in my life. meet him on excerise where para's where been used as enemy forces against SAS guys not very fun

I would love too see the Australian S.F commandos be in it could be the equal too the british S.A.S........just an idea
