It either can't be implemented properly or simply hasn't been done yet.

Yeah I saw that video a while ago, pretty neat.
Altough personally I think tanks turrets (maybe TOWs idk) should be controlled by WASD keys if these "gyro stabilizers" are implemented.
These thread, however is a re-suggestion outside of the suggestion form, so....yeah.

The problem then is of course that you can only ever move the turret at one particular speed. Meaning you can either have a turret that traverses quickly or one that can be aimed accurately at longer ranges(of course you can also have a turret that does neither well ).

Wouldn't be able to have stabilizers and stuff. It's all hardcoded into BF2's engine. While the video above which was done with BF2142's engine, can do this sort of thing.
