So I dug up my BF2 game wanting to try this mod out. I install it, download PR via torrent and install that. Go to run the game and it goes to a black screen then back to my desktop. I have it running under XP SP2, latest video card driver, and as admin and still nothing. Anyway to fix this issue would be great.

Did you remember to patch the BF2 before installing PR?
1.4 - 1.41 and 1.5 patches. In that order.

So I need to patch BF2 with 1.4, 1.41 and 1.5? I did download patch 1.5 and ran it but said BF2 was up to date.

BF2 by itself should run and it wont. Its funny the last time I played BF2 was on my old XP system first time trying to play it on Vista and its a headache.

You need to patch them in that order afaik. 1.5 isn't retail patch.
At least I did so when I had Vista and it worked just fine.

Alright downloading other patches will report back after I install everything. Thanks I hope this fixes the problem.

I think i had that too a week ago. Was playing PR already a lot, and suddenly i get a CTD right after getting a black screen (which i would interpret as loading). I had to reinstall BF2 + patches + mod to get it working again.

Alright got it working! Just needed to patch it. Thanks for the help I'll be sure to hope on tomorrow.
