Are there any pick-up kits in sp. (i'm certain there are, or atleast were in the last patch, but I only know where they are in Basrah) So, where are they?

This is not a "feedback" probably belongs to the "GD" forums!


And AFAIK there is pick-up kits on the cache locations!

Let me fix that for you then... I love PR, and I also love PR:SP, but I suggest that Pick-up kits be listed with their locations for PR:SP players to find, and possibly a way to select which kits will appear on which maps or flags...


And no, there are not pick-up kits on the caches anymore, they may be around them, but not very easy to find...

it's also not the suggestion forum
listing pick-up kits on maps might be useful, but is it fun?
there is no way to select which kits appear ingame, except for modding them in yourself.

I have been trying to mod it myself but everytime I mess with a con file it won't let me resave it to the correct location. And as for listing ON the map, I don't think that would work, too many waiting for them and it would be a sniper's dream come true to find an overwatch of that position. I would just like something in the manual (yes that thing no one reads ) to state their positions, kind of like the cache "outliner" that you can find for some maps.

Thanks, thats where I find them in Basrah, so are pick-up kits Active on all insurgent maps because if they are then I must assume they are just hidden better in the main on all the other maps?

I found a barrett 50 cal on top of the roof of the hotel in basrah.So, yes there are pick up kits. For all factions I believe. I usually find M95s all over the place.

You're either playing an older version or modified content, there are no Barretts on the current version and the only pickup kits are for insurgents located at their mainbases and weapon caches in deployment.

I find your first remark confusing, and yes I did notice your "feedback" in response to the rest:
I'm quite sure you know, but just to be sure - you have to extract .con files, then right-click them and go to "properties". there you can de-select read-only, which allows you to save your edited (with e.g. notepad) .con file. when you're done editing, you can simply drag or copy it back to the location you got it from in the first place.

secondly I didn't mean intel on weaponslocations exactly ON maps as in markers on minimaps ingame, I was merely contemplating the merit of knowing all weaponslocations and it's impact on gameplay, which would be as you described and lead to less teamplay because everyone wants the fancy easteregg .50 or the pickup MG. unless pickup locations are stated extremely vague (as in "near buildings") in the manual, I think it'll only lead to bf2 vanilla behavior.

though it's certainly very nice to know where rare weapons can be found in sp

I just found it refreshing for someone to actually dicuss something, not try to be the almighty and reem me for a small mistake...

I forgot to extract them, idk why. I'll try to attempt that again, thank you!

As for the fun being lost, IDK I think teamplayers will always be teamplayers, and lone-wolfers will always be that way. I just find it fun to go pop some bots with some weapons I do not usually utalize...

Can we get confirmation from someone "in-the-know" that there aren't any special weapons in the new version of SP?

If by special weapons you mean Dragunov, Strela, PKM and SMLE they are available at the insurgents main (don't know on the new map pack). As far as I know there aren't any SPECIAL weapons other than those, and even if there are I doubt their location will be shared.
