According to the modding tutorial i must replace the .tga files in the data folder to custimize my textures when using tpaint. But i don't know where to find any to use with PR. So any help would be appreciated.
I did use tpaint on my terrain and it is very usefull so i am in the process of learning. So any pointers and links to how to find or covert other files to tga would be appreciated.

Skip to 2:30 on this video, thats where I show how to use the textures from Battlefield 2.
And 2:40 on this video, I briefly show you that you can make custom textures.
For this textures in my maps I use a mixture of Battlefield 2 textures, and also textures I find online. By using the effects and layers on photoshop you can create texture that look natural and suit the map.
EDIT: its important that the textures you make can be repeated without much problems, otherwise you will have a bad looking tiled effect.
Also if you can find photoshop you could try Paint.net, Im not sure how well it works but it supposedly can edit TGA files (although it might not handle .DDS).

Ok i am back from succesfully getting to paint to do what i wanted it to. With the help of this program instead of photoshop Gamefront i suppose there are easier programs to use but i found it useful.
I still had to use my free demo of photoshop elements to save the tga files i made with this DDS converter, to convert the file to 24 bit so the file size would match up. And tpaint could use the tga files i made from the DDS converter because it only uses 24 bit i guess.
anyway there are probably useful photo editing programs out there but photshop elements was available to me. FYI kerpus
