[Texture] Russian T-90 [WiP]

Since my attempt at the Mi-8 was shot down by the Devs and nobody cared about my map idea, I decided to take up a challenge they set out for me
The T-90 which I should have finished as soon as I figure out its UV Map
Hopefully this time I won't be killed off by the Devs so quick this time

nobody wanted to kill you off mate
looks good, 1 thing i always noticed on the current skin is that the tracks look weird, you could copie over the track texture from \objects\Vehicles\Common\textures\tank_tracks_c.dds/tank_tracks_c_woodland.dds

Also how do I view the T-90 for desert maps since apparently it's used on none

you could do this in the Object Editor if you have the Bf2Editor installed
if you run Photoshop and Bf2Editor at the same time everytime you save your skin to the .dds (you can enable a option in Bf2Editor to reload new textures) the editor will reload it and you can have a preview

The textures looking a little flat to me tbh, its got good colour but no detail to bring it to life. Try working more on things like making the surface more gritty, which if you have ever seen a tank up close you will know that the surface is really gritty so that people walking on it don't slip off and things like that. Also don't forget the normal map layers etc

I can't get it to work since apparently DirectX 11 isn't backwards compatible with DirectX 9

Wait normal maps work in BF2? I thought they were only used as half assed specular maps

you need to run the installer and the editor in Compatibility Mode WinXp Servicepack 3

I'll try it, but I'm making the dirt for the tank since it's apparently too clean

You can install DX 9. At least I did it i think. Some of those older games have it on their, dvd/cd, including BF2 i think, just try to install it from there.

Wow those textures are excellent, the woodland one should look more dirty IMO.
I need desert variations for all the PLA vehciles for my map if you want something to do
The ones Chuc made a while ago no longer exist, and
the ones Ive made are not very good. There is no PLA desert vehicle camo, it just needs to look more dusty and worn out.

They sure do! Not as good as could be iirc, but it's better than nothing.
