Need some basic help

Ok, I've been on the fence about PR for months, mostly because I'm skeptical of my hardware, I have two options:
MacBook Pro running Boot Camp Win7
2.2ghz Core 2 Duo,
4gb DDR3
Integrated graphics blah
*Without a port for a non-usb mic.
My second option is my really old desktop
1.7ghz Core 2 Duo
Nvidia 7600gs
1gb RAM but don't know what type
*Full mic input/output ports
Basically, I need help choosing which PC to play PR and an estimate on what settings I will be able to play it on for around 40-60 FPS on average. Also, I know that a mic is pretty much imperative for PR so thats an issue for my laptop, as RAM might be an issue for my desktop...
PLEASE ADVISE

I dont think this will be able to run PR at all, especially the 1gb RAM will cause you problems, your best bet is the laptop on low settings.
some laptops have built in mics, do you have that?

If you post this in the PR Support section I am sure you'll get more replies. I cannot help you, as I don't know that much about computers.

I have an old non-unibody MBP, I use the mic on it just fine for PR when I'm without my desktop. It's not amazing, but it can play PR. Give it a go

OK, seems like im stupid today lol....Here are the full specs of my laptop:
Macbook Pro 13" 2009
-2.26gHz Core 2 Duo
-4gb DDR3 1067mHz
-NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 512mb vRAM
Video showing BF2 (High settings) on same computer, only difference is that i have twice the RAM:
YouTube - Battlefield 2 @ MacBook Pro 13" with nVidia Geforce 9400, settings: high
Same guy showing medium settings:
YouTube - Battlefield 2 @ MacBook Pro 13" with nVidia Geforce 9400, settings: medium
Looks alright, is PR more demanding than stock BF2?

Yeah, it particularly requires more memory on load (or so it seems to anyways)

I DO have 4gb of RAM and twice the required video memory (128mb required, have 256mb)
I have the same computer as the guy in the video, but with 2x the RAM, so mine will perform better than his...I just don't want to waste time and spend money if my hardware can't run it at a pretty good framerate

Does PR run on MAC?

I have Boot Camp, a program developed by Apple that's on all Mac's which allows them to have both OS X and Windows on the same computer. So I can boot into either Windows or OS X
No, PR is only on Windows

PR can be substantially more demanding than BF2 on a few points, but if that guy could run BF2 on high, I suspect you would at least be able to run PR on low/med. I don't know though, I ain't no expert on these matters

I have a comparable macbook pro to yours (although I think I have a little bit better video card) and I can run it on low-med

why buy a mac when you can buy a cheaper laptop and still upgrade your computer to a better standard?
To run PR you will need (low settings):
- 2GB ram
- 2.0ghz duo CPU
- 512 MB graphics card

Because some people need it for work. I for instance could not have done my internship at the company where I did it, if I had not bought a mac a few years ago. They needed knowledge with a specific set of mac programs at that company. Which was the biggest benelux gaming magazine company so I'm glad I bought my mac

Its not an emulation. You just boot it up with a reboot of your machine. Your OSX partition is not accessible. Not unless you have NTFS for Windows installed. In which case you can access the partition. But the system is turned off. At least, thats how I experience it. And what I read about it on the nets.
Because there are windows emulators out there like Paralelz and Fusion. And those do decrease performance since OSX and Windows than share the same hardware. Advantage is you have your Windows OS in a window whilst your working in OSX. So you dont have to reboot to access a windows program. But it is slower.
