Chinese VN-3 - Problem

I noticed today that the Chinese VN-3 Armored Car's driver position does not require a crewman kit to drive, yet the gunner does.
When i was playing today i noticed that lone wolfers were simply getting in these without giving it a second thought and using them as transport jeeps
The problem with this is that people just dump these in the middle of nowhere, getting out and using their sniper or whatever kit.
Simple solution: make driver and gunner require crewman kits
Not sure if this is intentional but if so i think it should be re thought
Smiddey,

A crewman-kit requirement wouldn't go amiss considering the BRDM-2 driver requires one and the BRDM-2 is a rather comparable vehicle.

well it should be crewmanned as afaik the crew of the vehicle is not really part of the SQ that it drives its probably a diffrent unit but dont quote me on it

Right ok ahaha, well i was not saying your english is bad, just what you said had nothing really to do with the thread
echo wrote:But to be honest do you really need a crewman kit to drive something like a VN3?
This is not about how realistic it is to have a crewman kit, it is about people treating them as transport Humvee/UAZ's and just leaving them in the battlefield like you would with trans vehicles but not APC's
Ok let me put it in other terms, its like using a MEC BRDM-2 for transport and just leaving it in the middle of Muttrah. However since the BRDM-2 requires a crewman kit and i have never seen one dumped in a map
So why should the VN-3 be any different? it has the same armament, near the same armour and same passenger capacity

if we added this dynamic for the reason you say then we'd have to make humvees require crewmen too tbh

Humvees are still classed in the infantry transport vehicles along with trans humvees n trucks. Where as the VN-3 is in the same class of vehicles as the BRDM 2, M113 and Light MTLBs which all require crewman kits for both driver and gunner

Making it require a crewman will not change anything since you can just request a kit of apc's any way they could just drive some where jump out and request their 1337 snip0r kit

CROWvees do not require any crewman kits at all at the moment.

Which they shouldn't it is no different from driving a normal Humvee.

The BRDM-2, VN-3, Panther CLV, CROWS HMMWV, etc, should either all require crewman kits or else all not require crewman kits. These all have extra armour and lack exposed gunners, unlike the vehicles listed below, and thus should be classified differently from the normal HMMWV, G-Wagen, Land Rover, etc.

The crows has the same armor value as a normal hummer as far as i know they both can take 1+ lat shot the crows operates the same way as a normal car therefor it should not require a crewman to drive who is trained to drive and gun for armor.
