Squad Leader Radio on Mumble

Does anybody else find this extremely annoying?
Everytime I squad lead on a mumble server like TG or PRTA, the squad leader radio is always soooooo full of chatter, and I can't distinct what my squadmates or regular mumblers are saying.
For example, Muttrah City
NOOBleader: "OMG OMG OMG 1 single insignificant rifleman spotted in C12kp4!!" When the team hasn't even taken North City yet.
Cobra: Cobra is up... we need spotter.... is there any APC's....
Noobleader: OMG OMG OMG theres an AA in D8kp5 clearly where no helicopters are going to go!!
Noobleaders: BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
meanwhile
My squadmate: Contacts 165 west
Mumbler: squad 4, enemies closing in bearing 140, and marksman in the T building 200m south.
Noobleaders: BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
Me: WHAT?
then we all die.
I have 1 very very simple solution for this.
Everytime you use the goddamn squad leader radio, say which squad is talking first. This way other squadleaders can distinct your voice from that of thier squadmates and other mumblers in the vicinity. Also, if its not extremely urgent (like a tank on the other side of the freakin map going back to rearm) shut up please. Only use it for urgent matters (like a tank closing in on an infantry squad). And also, for stationary things, like snipers, TOWS, AAs. USE THE FREAKING MARKERS!!! I hope this'll make mumble a lot quieter.

Protip: Bind -10% volume and +10% volume to the - and + buttons on your keyboard. Markers are pretty **** honestly, especially for something like a tank or APC which is moving often. I've seen choppers, infantry and armor die due to markers being outdated.
Rudd has a good guide on the relevance of squad leader chat, its floating around here somewhere.

I agree its a problem but as ever a two edged sword.
The infantry SL guiding the CAS onto a target which is decimating his squad will monopolise the chat for a minute or so.
If you meet any guys that are spamming really useless info just POLITELY ask them to keep it pro.
I prefer to use names in SL channel as guys don't always remember their squad number - Legion, Legion u there?
Hopefully the 'new mumble' we all keep hearing about will help this.
But yes markers for fixed targets or a 'rough' location of anything that moves helps.

I'd say TG is okay. If someone is talking too much in the SLR, you'll definitely hear it from the other players, telling you to shut up.
PRTA on the other hand, is noisy as hell.

I think people also don't think about how to synthesize the info they want to relay/communicate.
Playing on a team really teaches you how to use any form of voice down to a minimum

Split up into smaller sections. IE 3 sections.
Platoons. 3 squads per platoon. 3 SL channels.
Then you have the three Platoon leaders in TS or smt. Or just not communicating at all. Who cares?

Wicca, that's never going to happen on a public server, and you know it.

Yeah I see this all the time ^^, you get used to it, just tell them to put a marker down each time they announce anything, they soon get the message and stop pestering

. Nothing like actually telling them they're not using it to its best, because sometimes they just don't know any better =]

If someone is talking too much, tell them.
Only significant information should be reported on SL radio.
if you need an in depth discussion with another squad leader you either type it, or you FREAKIN WALK OVER TO THEM and talk in local.

Sometimes there is too much chatter. Sometimes it is absolutely perfect and people still manage to complain. If you don't want the responsibilities of squadleading, don't do it. Map markers on their own won't help your mortars to be accurate, they won't help your CAS avoid the enemy AA and nobody will know where things actually are. When it comes to targets that aren't a threat to anybody, map markers are perfect.

Retrieving the relevant bits of information from the Global Reports that get said on SL Channel is a skill, as is ignoring the irrelevant ones.
As SL in a Mumble server you are basically map-reader and radioman, I've never personally found that there is too much going on in SL channel, and I also feel as a regular that when I have some 'mates' as other SL's we work together and only say what's relevant. As humans we have the ability to work well like that once there is a rapport.
Obviously if someone is spamming it then they need to be politely told to quieten town and told why they should - then they will improve as an SL. But i've never told anyone.. It's just unlinked trolls that I tell off.
I do feel that this issue is only present for people who don't have a good rapport with the other SL's and who are too busy with the 'hands on' element of leading their squad, i.e. they are actually looking through the sights and firing at the enemy rather than looking at the map and telling their men to fire at the enemy. language may possibly be an issue as well, if someone is gibbering in English all the time I can understand it eventually becoming overwhelming, even for good English speakers (and you guys amaze me with your ability).
I have a gf, so i'm good at only hearing the important bits of a conversation!

Sometimes its too much, but not often. Make use of the radio to mark targets. If you want to plan stuff, meet up with the involved squadleaders and plan in local speech if possible. I see the 128 testserver has mumble with 3 SL channels. I dont think thats a good idea, at least not with mumble, where you cant easily switch channel. Getting ACRE for PR on the other hand would be pretty darn sweet.

Another option is to get a trusted mate as squad medic (or any other kit) and get him to be radioman.
No Admins have any reason to have an issue with this, it also gives the guy another very important job to do so he won't get so bored staying alive at the rear of the squad.

I tested the Platoon system on 128 SISU today. That was nice. Just need platoon leaders in teamspeak. And we had none in TS. So still we won twice.

Pity mumble doesn't work for me at all and I get to hear everyone in every channel on both teams all talking at once.

Oh. Well, I usually manage do to both (kill people and lead simultaneously) if my squad members have played the game for more than one week. The same goes for telling my squadmembers when to fire. What I usually do is set up a basic ROE according to situation and if green, let them engage as they please.
Too much micro management is only bad.
And regarding too much blabbering in SL radio, some basic radio discipline and telling people to shut up when needed solves most problems. If it doesn't, just leave and go do something else or play on a different server.
