Not sure if this is a bug, but in the files and release notes of v.95 there is a M14 marksman rifle. But in game the M14 is shown as a M21 in the label of the gun. The label that you see when you scroll through your weapons.

Not quiet sure if you are talkie about SP or not but the Hamas faction has the M14 as marksman-rifle.

The m21 is the version of the m14 converted for sniping and marksmen duties. On retrospect in the changelog they may be talking about the m14 DMR which is another converted version of the m14 used by the USMC.

In 0.9 you could right click on marksman and you could get the iron sighted M14, probably just file names have not been changed

I mod files in project reality for single player. And if you create a kit and give it the m14 it shows up as a m21 in game.

The name in game says its a m21. I think they just forgot to change it. I'll try the wooden m14 and see what it says.

M21 = Newer M14. I don't see why they would be using Korea/Vietnam weapons

The M14 is actually the base for the fancy US Army and USMC marksman rifles.

Here's some pictures. See how it says on the wooden one that its a M14 while on the more modern one that its a M21. But in the weapons_server.zip they are both listed as M14s.

Program Files/EA Games/Battlefield 2/mods/pr/object/weapons_server.zip that's where all the weapons are. I took the wooden m14 and replaced the USMC M21 with it in the marksmans kit.

BUT DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR FILES OR MAKE ANY CHANGES YOU WONT BE ABLE TO PLAY ANYMORE ONLINE.

I copied my Battlefield 2 folder and and named it Battlefield 2-SP. I do all my modding for single playing in that folder. Its nice if you want to train with other weapons or vehicles, or you don't have a internet connection.
