I appreciate this problem is not PR specific but BF2 in general - not for want of trying I am unable to get my mic to work in BF2 and this means my enjoyment of playing PR is somewhat reduced.

Have tried re-running the BF2 voice setup but this doesn't work. I dont have a dedicated sound card so this may be at the source of the problem I don't know. The mic works in test mode in windows so it's only in game its feckered.

Running Win7 64 bit and latest PR install. Have installed mumble and teamspeak also. I can hear voices just cant speak even when I hit the speak key. The settings in BF2 audio are all corect as far as aI can see.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

PS - just thought I'd mention I ran through the mumble wizard and I can hear my own voice there in the test - it registers on the sound guage bar.

PS - I can connect to a game server in mumble and join the appropriate squad that I have joined in the game.

What mouse/keyboard are you using? Is it a mouse that uses some sort of program, such as Logitech Setpoint?

Have you tried Teamspeak, Ventrilo or Skype to test if its a Windows-wide problem? Most likely Windows is detecting the mic, its just that there are issues with the button shortcuts you are using.

Standard USB keyaboard and mouse. Haven't tried skype on Win7 yet (this PC), had it working with this mic on old PC though (XP).

Will BF2 voip work ok with on board sound (motherboard), does it need a dedicated sound card to work?

Have set up mumble. It appeared to be successful as per the wizard test. I will try to run through this again.

The team couldn't hear me in game but I coudl hear them. WAs fairly certain I was using correct push to speak

Click the start orb, type record press enter. Record your self, play audio file see if it works. If not type in recording and press enter, follow the steps.

simple fix - Windows 7?

Just make sure you mic is set to standard default with no comuunitcation options set.

Rightclick speaker - Recording Devices - Communications tab - set "do nothing"

thank you for suggestions above, will try these and see how it goes.

spent a bit of time on this last night. folowed all the instructions above and all audio checks worked, both in mumble and BF2 test. People could hear me when I spoke in mumble but not when I switched back to the BF2 game, or maybe they werent letting on .

A step forward certainly but one thing I noticed is that the directional sound didn't appear to be working.

Have you tried running everything using the mic as administrator? If I'm not entirely mistaken windows 7 can be a bit wonky with sending commands to background programs if you don't run them with administrator permission. (Settings for this can be found by right clicking on the icon, then go properties -> compatibility -> check run as administrator)
