MIC Issues (Static)

In project reality, when I am using VOIP to communicate with squad mates, my voice comes out staticy. They can still understand what I am saying, but there is a lot of static accompanied by it. I have Windows 7 64 bit and I have used both a Plantronics and Razer headset, and neither work. Skype, Mumble, Vent, Teamspeak and all other programs work(except L4D2 (which is the same problem)).

I have tried all of the suggestions Google shows me, and have read as many threads in here as possible, but to no avail.

Try lowering the volume a touch? It may be reaching the max the game can handle and sending excess noise as a result. Also I assume the boom is still attached to the mic? That little bit of foam does a hell of a lot ^^.

Are you connecting your headset to a front panel or direct to the backplate that is connected to the motherboard?

Computer case front panel headphone and mic jacks are just not made well any more, even from quality case OEMS, their suppliers have no QC.

NExt step is to open up your sound controls in control panel, Realtek manager, or whatever you have, and try to adjust the bit rate quality of your microphone input. If your net connection is slow, you lose packets to the PR server which can cause crackle, if your bitrate settings are too low, your crackle can come from that too.

My simple onboard Realtek Audio options have:
2 channel, 16 bit CD quality 44100 Hz
2 channel, 16 bit DVD quality 48000 Hz
2 channel, 16 bit Studio quality 96000 Hz

I'm on a fast net connection so I use Studio quality.

Eh, still have the problem. Still combing the net for fixes, but there is absolutely nothing on it. It appears some people have the same problem (All applications work with mic, but in game mic produces a staticy feedback). I'd be ever so grateful if you guys happened to know my problem.
