So I doubt many people will remember me, I was playing PR before most of you had even been born probably.

For those of you who dont know me, I was one of Rhino's clan ******* back in the day. Had a hand in helping him design Muttrah V1, played in the first ever PR tournament. Was just reminising with a friend about the days when I spent all my free time playing PR and thought id drop in and see if anyone on here remembers the good ol' days of v0.2. Its shocking to see how far things have come, a testiment if there ever was one to how commited the dev team is.

Anyway, PR nostalgia thread. Go.

Hey Jelly its good to see you again!

There are still a bunch of us about here, Finch the nub is in the RAF now but he sometimes pops in for a game or two and Rank etc from RGG are still about

Also I think you will be really interested to hear in PR:ARMA2 which is coming out soon, should be just up your street I would have thought

If you ever want to hop in and have a game I'm sure we could round up a bunch of the RGG guys and get a game going like in the good old days when we spent most of the battle tree humping

BTW did you ever play Muttrah City v2? Can't remember if you where still around then, if so you should really give it a go its soo much better than v1

Yeah, should definitely check out Muttrah v2 if you've only played v1. Although I'm only around since ~0.5, I had the opportunity to play both, and the difference is just immense. As with everything in the mod. This project is simply huge.

Speaking of nostalgia, I'm still not sure what happened to requiem. He can't not care about where this is going!

I never got to play V2! I think im right in saying I left just after the British forces were introduced. Alot of things have changed since then, for one I dont have a desktop PC anymore (I gave in and bought an Xbox). I spend most of money these days on my car, drinking and lose women. Go figure.

What ever happend to the rest of the RGG/ TC guys? I heard finch had joined the forces but I never found out what he was doing specifically. Oh, and what happend to Dsciple? Does that noov ever pop in? I tried tracking him down on facebook to no avail.

That would be v0.4 then, and Muttrah v2 didn't come until v0.8 iirc. Big shame you never got round to playing, you should look into if your laptop can play PR

TC guys, not many of them about now, I think TC is still going but not sure.

Some RGG guys are about still, wormeaten is working on PR:ARMA2 now as a dev, Darkpowder is a tech guy on these forums, Dr Rank is still working on Sangin, Squid joins in for a game now and then but his PR can't really run PR any more and Finch also hops in for a round now and then, but mainly just me and Rank left who play PR now and then from RGG.

And ye Finch joined the RAF as a aircraft technician working on Puma's, with his job is he inspects the Pumas before and after every flight although I'm still not sure how none of them haven't crashed yet with him doing that as he's such a nub
I think I'm going to see the nub this weekend at a BBQ at Ranks place

I think Disciple joined the USMC iirc, not seen him much after that. I think he still logs into MSN now and then thou but haven't talked to him in ages.


But ye would be really good if you could get your laptop up and running with PR and jump in for a round or two, although you might end up getting addicted again and having to splash out for a desktop

indeed, although it was GloryHoundz

its a shame in a way we have lost that really small, close nit community where there was only one server which was never quite full, but always had a few people in it and everyone knew everybody who played PR pretty much and you would see and play with the same people every day, was awesome

But having loads of servers with playing with just guys in your squad you know is cool too

I still remember the days of gloryhoundz. Popping on for a game of PR with about 10 people in total on a busy night. Those were the days.

Anyway, this is what I replaced my PC and endless nights on PR with.

hehe, I'm sure he will since Rank has fallen for a girl and Finch is really heart broken as a result and really needs someone to fall back on

I do miss jumping on a server and knowing you were going to have a good game and that you would usually know a good portion of the players on (even if it was only 40-50 odd people)

You think you can just show up here after years of my worry and heartache to be greeted with open arms? no chance mate. We'd need to build a relationship up again, take me out on a few dates, tell me I look pretty and then may be I might be able to trust again. To be fair I was thinking of you a few weeks back wondering what the deal was with you now, still working in the garden centre?


Loved those early days of PR, Steel thunder, campaign 1 and lol'ing and deg0 trying to say blackhawk, good times.

Well I know this is naughty but I typed RGG into the search engine and found this, just wanted to let everyone know [RGG] is back up and running, any vets can register onto the new forums Regiment of the Grenadier Guards

And we have a steam group which you guys can join as well, so please do get involved, we still play PR a lot and there's a great new bunch of guys on there who play a lot of PR.

Finch, Rhinoob and Rank are already on there, plus Wormeaten who's still as angry as ever, well ill leave it up to you guys to join just contact me if the questions are too hard

Also anyone who played with [RGG] or was "AWWW FRIENDS" with [RGG] has a place there too
