Isn't that the intended behaviour like with the M14?

I beleave this is intentional on some marksman rifles. Remember reading it from some changelog.
Cant be 100% sure thought.

Yes if I recall correctly this is intended. Just like if you have an ironsighted LMG as a conventional faction, when you ADS in deployed mode it will zoom in

The undeployed is not totally unzoomed. It's seem a 4x zoom, and the deployed seem to be a x8 (not sure of value )

There's no M14 theres the american M21 DMR and I'm pretty sure there is no difference between deployed and standard stance. You can change the optics with alternate kit but not the zoom.

I think the USA use the 21 and USMC use the 14? Though I'm unsure if the visual differences are there ingame atm.
afaik this zoom difference is intentional, I assume the scopes have some kind of variable zoom IRL, and we use this ingame to give a more appropriate FOVs for different ranges of firing.
E.g. you'd use the x4 for closer shots on par with a normal assault rifle, then the longer zoom for your slow and deliberate marskman shots.

Meh, everyone knew what I was talking about. Pretty sure it used to be the M14?

M21 = m14 + new stock + adjustable sight (4x-14x i believe)

It is. It says "Some marksman rifles and light machineguns have different magnification levels depending on which mode you are on (deployed/undeployed)". Not sure if light machineguns were mentioned though.

QBU88 and M21 DMRs have different magnification when undeployed/deployed:
QBU88:
3-9x
M21:
3,5-10x
so not a bug, closed
