[XP] BTX PSU Forced to fit

I have a very old computer Dell dimension 5150 (with Pentium 4 HT) and i just put in a ATX psu because i swapped GPU to 5770 because it didn't work at my friend's mobo.
THE only problem right now is that the PSU does fit into my case but is only hanging on with the four screws because my old BTX PSU was stumpier ( higher but narrower) than the ATX PSU.
So should i really be fitting the ATX PSU which does not have the same dimensions and (cant/dont want/find BTX PSU with 6 pin PCI E connector)????
PS: My comp is playing Arma 2 : OA maxed out at 1280x1024 resolution even though it does not reach specs

I don't really understand your problem.
4 screws on a PSU is sufficient imho (mine only had 4 by default).
btw. Moved.

I was worried it might break off and destroy everything inside + catch fire becuase my older BTX PSU was emplaced with 4 screws AND supported by another push in flexible metal
And is it normal for my new PSU to smell VERY mildly of rubber when it's on???

When you wiggle the PSU you should have a feel for if it will fall off. If you still feel uncomfortable your probably best off stabilizing it with an angled sheet or maybe even simply some kind of wire at the lose end.
To me this smell is normal you get that with almost everything new nowadays - as long as it doesn't smell burnt you should be OK. The intensity will degrade and the smell should be pretty much gone away after 1-2 weeks (PC run time).

or you could buy a new case with the psu at the bottom?

Theres no problem from the power output side of things, and aslong as it doesnt fall off its fine. If you're really worried, cut a piece of dowelling to the right length, and wedge it at the bottom of the case and support it e.g
------------ case top
_______
|______| PSU
...|
...| Dowell
---------case bottom (touching dowell)
