hello, ive been playing Project Reality for a long time, and ive very much enjoyed my experience with it, i love when i and an insurgent and take a blufor kit and use it against them 8-) . however, in .95 your only limited to take sertain kits, limited to rifleman, AR, and combat enj (that ive seen). how come you decided to set this up? cuz man, if i were an iraqi insurgent, and i found an l96 or something like that, id take it in a heartbeat :p

In real life, an Insurgent picking up an M24 isn't trained on the weapon, meaning he will most likely be very innacurate with it, and not know how to operate it properly. In PR however, when an Insurgent picks up whatever kit and uses the weapon, he is just as accurate as the Marine/Brit/etc. who used it, therefore it was silly having Insurgents running around with HAT, sniper and marksman.

For balance purposes, they can still use Rifleman kits but in my opinion thats still stretching it.

And on the flipside, soldiers are told not to use enemy weaponry, as it could be booby trapped, inoperable or could literally blow up in their face.

And instanly become able to hit that guy 300m away with the first shot?
Or use SRAW? (and reload it on the cashe :D )
Currently you can freely use the rifleman kits (+ LAT and anti-personnel kits) which I personally think is too much as you're still able to grab enemy M4/l96/whatever and be as accurate with it as if you trained with it for months.
So, yeah, realism reasons.

...ninjas...

Please search before creating a thread like this in future. Dtacs gave a pretty good outline of the reasons behind the decision.
