You can just stand there and nothing can kill you behind the magic forcefield:

Why is there a hidden wall?
On warships i can understand it, but in the middle of a city?

There isn't any negative effect. Neither you nor the enemy can use it as an advantage. Not worth the time imho.

Bug fixes are alwas worth the time.
Besides, it is an advantage.
You can observe the enemy without being able to be engaged. Granted, the same applies for all bullet proof glass surfaces, but those are rather rare outside of military vehicles in PR.
Also, the one hiding behind that cover knows where it ends. The one down on the street does not know.
Imagine you're spotted behind that cover. The enemy realizes they cannot kill you, and try to circle the building until they can get a clear shot. You will KNOW when they have a shot, they won't until they try. This means, most likely, you'll have the first shot.

That building has a sign on it that was "removed" IIRC. The col of it is there but it has no texture.
There was a recent thread on this somewhere but I cant find it.
