Really want to like this

Whats up guys, just wanted to come here and post my opinion about this game and get your input.
I installed the game a few days ago after seeing some very cool videos on youtube. The videos highlighted the more tactical side of this game , the voice comm between the squad in the video was very good and they work as a team. This video really got me hyped to play. I'm former military and a game junkie so this seemed like a perfect match.
Heres where the problem lies, I have only been in one squad that actually worked well, with good comm. This game is worthless without a decent squad, you will spend 2 hours getting your *** kicked and respawning.
I guess I'm going to have to find a mature clan to try and hook up with or move on to another game, because spending two hours getting my *** kicked, while I listen to a 15 year old boy shout orders isn't fun.
Anyone have any suggestions on a good clan? or server to play on?

The 128 SISU test server is usually good at having organized teams because being in a squad and using mumble is a requirement, however this server's only up on the weekends. But usually the servers that enforce Mumble use are usually good

It's mostly up to the server to enforce it mature teamplay and encourage good play. Find the best servers, find a good squad. Get mumble (if you haven't already) and you should be getting some quality stuff most of the time.
Since you're american I'd suggest starting at the TG (Tactical Gamer) server, they use mumble and have some nice teamplay going.

Hmm. What's the problem w/ 15yo shouting orders? I don't think that he (or she) was actually shouting.
Secret is: Find a good server. SISU, NwA, TG, the works.

Yes, a clan would definitely help. If you don't like to be led by the young (I know that some people don't, it's understandable), look for clans with an age requirement. Here's the recruitment page -
Clan Recruitment - Project Reality Forums
If one wasn't a clan-type of people, than he would probably play in servers which force Mumble use. I can't even put it in words how great it is. Imagine 64 (or even 128 ) players working together. It allows you to talk/hear your teammates who are not in your squad, and the sound you hear is positional increasing your immersion and situational awareness. Here's a great guide for it
Mumble Guide | PRTA
There's only one server I know of where Mumble is obligatory is PRTA (Project Reality Teamwork Alliance). Also the 128 player SISU is Mumble-only, but it's a test server, so it's online in weekends. You should probably check out TG because of low ping (USA based), lots of users with Mumble playing there, but it's not obligatory (admins won't kick the mumbleless). Also NwA is great. Lots of Mumble users (it's not mandatory), teamwork and lots of non-abusive admins.

Good old Tactical Gamer has a steady teamwork oriented community, but it doesn't mean every squad or every round on TG is good.
SISU -when it is running- is a big surpriser, there is often very good communication and teamwork, mainly due to the doubled player amount and larger squad size, hence greater probability for teamwork oriented people leading the squads and that mumble use is enforced there.
Of course you can have good rounds on every server but on those two it occurs much more frequently!
A clan is not necessary to have good games, in a clan you're at best in a good squad, not in a good team necessarily.

Btw, don't play 128 test server. You don't play on there for an actual game. Squads can't be completely full, lots of buggy sh3t, restarts over 9000 times. I've been on the server a few times to try it out, and I haven't had a positive experience yet. I would recommend TG, NwA, and I personally enjoy Kokan + Hookers.

Dev actually has a point. For me the 128 players feels like PR has to be played now that I experienced it. But I had the patience of sticking through all the crashes and the time it takes to organise 2 full teams. As a new player your probably better of getting to know PR with less people trying to kill you
@Dev nice picture btw
The servers people are suggesting like TG, NWA and PRTA are the best bets. Although PR is a bit of a hit and mis even on those servers. Thats one of the reasons I lost interest. In my busy schedule, the few free time moments I had and played PR where bad. Ploddit once put it like this and I can only agree with it
If you take 7 Pr games, 2 will be bad, 1 will be meh, 1 is AWESOME Best you'll ever see, 2 will be fine, 1 will be ok. And this will repeat itself

Fun fact: You can always leave a bad round and try again later/elsewhere

PRTA (get mumbe first) TacticalGamer, NwA, ]H[, hardcore eh?
Stuff like that... You will get around the "major" servers soon.
Look for SQDs that are called something like "ENG VOIP" or "VOIP INF". Sometimes there are joke names. (TG likes to do that sometimes, calling an actually good SQD something retarted. again, you will get your head around that ok.)
Oh, tiny tip. If you see squad leaders with the # tag in their name. Or #!, join!
I call my squads "#! INF VOIP" all the time.

As has been said, general rule of thumb is join servers which use mumble, these will have better teamplay...
128 Sisu is my favourite when it's online. I have played good and bad games on many servers.
I have played with some excellent squad leaders and it makes a big difference to the level of fun. Communication is key, if your squad aren't communicating then jump ship a bit until you find a squad who are.

Start mumble
Look for servers with a good amount of mumblers
Join the server chanel and listen for a min to a teams chat, (DO NOT TALK) , if you hear the type of teamwork you want, then join the server.
If you hear moaning of lack of teamwork then dont join.
