How active is this game?

Hey, I'm new, and getting ready for Battlefield 3 I decided I wanted to go buy BF2 since I never owned it. I saw a video about this mod and that made me want to get BF2 even more. The video that got me was of all the civilians messing around, and I thought it looked really fun. I was just wondering how active PR is now because I think it would be fun to do stuff like that along with playing "regular" matches.
So, um, yeah....

There are over 1000 unique players every day.
During US peak hour, at least 3 servers are populated. Its currently the most populated BF2 mod, and has been for some years.

Dont sell yourself short rudd(and the rest of the devs obviously). The main reason this mod is still populated is that constant development and improvment is going on. Without that it was probably stagnate and die out relatively quickly.

Just have in mind that the best servers are TG, NwA and PRTA. At the weekends you have the chance to try 128 SISU Test Server for the double of teammates. For PRTA and 128 SISU you will need an audio side program called Mumble (that comes together with PR installation package, so install it). It's like positional audio which means that when it comes to distance and right or left, you will hear it accordingly just like in real life. It's pretty good, I can assure you.
Hardcore and HOG are servers that you should avoid at all costs.
Read the guide and know the basic, it's important. Especially the medic kit.
Tell your Squad Leader that you're new and he will help you out. Do not take any heavy assets so early in the game or people will get pissed.
And as a ritual, every newbie have to make love to Wicca in a dark corner - any at all, it doesn't matter. I think he's trying to anticipate the moment so get it over with.

There will always be at least 2 full 64 player servers and most of the rest will have at least 6 people in them.

U mad? At peak can have up to 6 64 servers online

HOG is fine. But Hardcore is stacked almost every time I join. Complete noob team with some handful of pros(Squad or less) on one side and a slew of H guys on the other.
