Canada Pulls Out/OP.Archer ???

Just sitting back remembering when operation archer was better with the U.S. fighting the taliban, then the Canadian Government answered my prayers and is currently pulling out of afganistan.

I got an interesting idea that has to do with the real life realism comparison of the game. Since Canada is pulling out of operations in afganistan, can the U.S. faction move back in on Operation Archer? If they do come back, i am proposing an asset arrangement that will make the map better and still keep the balance between teams. But still be similar in some ways as the old school version of the map before canada moved in.

For the U.S. Moving back in.

2 Transport Hueys
1 Cobra
1 Bradley APC ( Will not flip on terrain like Canadas APCs)
1 LAV-25 APC
1 Crows HMV
4 Regular HMVs
2 Transport Trucks
2 Logi trucks

As you can see the cobra on this map would take a very skilled pilot to not get shot down by constant threat of 50 cal fire. I would take up the challenge and put together different strategys.

For the Taliban

+ 2 ZPU / Quad Cannon AAA ( One Near Airport, Other near Taliban main)
+ 2 Technicals 50 cal

The Taliban will still recieve the same amount of assets plus these 2 changes.

IRL the USMC etc try to arrange engagements so that they cannot lose, and even losing one man is a big deal

Ingame, we need to give the Taliban a 50% chance of winning if both teams have equal skill

Considering maps like Basrah are still UK v. INS, I doubt this will happen.

And then even were the CF replaced, I'd think it'd be the Army rather than the USMC, as the USMC is mainly w/ TF Leatherneck in Helmand while it appears the Army has control of Kandahar on east from what I got on the ISAF website.

Indeed, many of PR's maps are now historical to a sense, such as Basrah and Fallujah.

This map would be no different and would not justify us removing the Canadians off the map, although this wouldn't mean we couldn't put the US on as well as the Canadians as they both use the same voices and just have each force on different layers.

Would be interesting to have an insurgency map with a heavy CAS asset present.

Armored APC's, trucks, small arms, vs small arms AA and technicals? Sounds like a massacre to me.

And the Taliban and INS always win.

It's very kind that you have just offered to make us a brand new CAN vs TAL map to reinforce your point. I'm already looking forward to your progress updates in the community modding forums. Or did I miss the point? Maybe you missed mine :)

I think this is in the wrong area ;)

The best way to add something into the game (Such as factions, maps, vehicles, weapons) is to make them yourself with real life (realism) references to current (or very near future) specifics.

You can post your work in the proper section somewhere around here.

Unless there is a crucial need for a fix for a faction, it won't be changed unless confirmation from MA's and 9001 references to back it up.

You know, I had this strange feeling I recalled the OP's name when I read this thread. So I had a gander at his post history and then stumbled upon this and it all made sense:

Basically, another veiled attempt to get an attack chopper into an insurgency map

If you want heavy cas on insurgency maps you should have to wait for the 4 km insurgency maps I gues

Insurgency mod should be renamed as "Poor US Army that cant afford CAS versus Insurgents guarding random weapon boxes".

Give blufor CAS. It would be interesting if you would have to constantly fear being shelled from above as insurgent.

Ok, ok Im asset whore and I think kashan is one of the best maps along with maps like Iron eagle, Burning sands(When its fixed), Silent eagle, Yamalia...

If it talks like a suggestion, walks like a suggestion and smells like a suggestion...it's probably a suggestion.
